MOSFETs are considered low-power devices compared to BJTs, but BJT power draw is just whatever base current is required to drive the collector current and has nothing to do with the actual signal involved, whereas MOSFETs draw current during switching which makes their power draw frequency dependent. Low frequency signal, BJT draws more power; High frequency signal, MOSFET draws more power. But here's the thing: Floating inputs, susceptible to parasitic capacitance and stray induction due to parts, layout, and the EM environment, don't have enough power to really do much to BJTs but MOSFETS, therein lies the issue.

Thank you for posting. Today I have been thinking about building a triple half H-bridge using mosfets and this tutorial helps me gain familiarity with the mosfet.

I really enjoy your presentation style is very clear and engaging. listening to you and others like you I realize I had such crappy teachers in college. Can I make a topic suggestion I would love to explore biasing the base of a BJT transistor. I'm asking because I'm attempting to understand very basic audio amplifier circuits and that aspect of it is still a bit fuzzy.

eye opening video thank you , i have a question for you if i want to use the mosfet as just a switch , basicly i want to use it for connecting 2 capacitors in parellel then close the switch ( mosfet and close another mosfet which will connect the 2 caps in series , how i arrange the ground for the mosfet between the 3 mosfets ( 2 mosfets to connect the 2 capcitor in parallel + 1 mosfet to connect the same 2 caps in series ) thanks for your help

how can one verify the bandwidth of a 500mhz oscilloscope with the expensive function generator or other expensive instruments?

I'd rather know why using a mosfet for led dimming causes the power supply makes loud high-frequency noise. Only when the full current passes through the mofset, the power supply is silent. Where is the fault and how can I fix it?

CMOS 4000 family chips must have all unused inputs tied to a voltage (ground or Vcc) and never be floating, otherwise then can start oscillating and can even be destroyed!

Well what can I say... You sounded quite smart talking fast and funny till you mentioned the Chinesium cable. What the heck is worng with you? You enjoy buying cheap instruments that would sell for 10 times more than what you get here, because China would offers more functinallity for the buck, but here you are criticizing them rather than your poor choice. They have more expensive options that are built around quality material which assembled have passed many standards. Apple products are mostly made in China, so are Samsung and LG and many American and Japanese oem products. China is learning how to emulate the products that are being built in their country and they're catching up super fast. Made in Taiwan or Japan did not mean much decades back in the 70 but now people do not question their quality anymore. It goes the same with mainland China. They've got quality stuffs if you're willing to crack your wallet.
