Chivni /chimni kalwan is on the the Authentic Maharastrian special recipe. chivni is cooked during monsoon ,bcos chivni fish is available during mansoon. their eggs (gaboli) are very tasty .Simple and easy to make recipe
Ingredients-
chivni fish- 7 pieces
coriender chopped- 1 bowl
3 green chillis
20 garic cloves
2 inch ginger
tamarind pulp- 2 tbsp
dry grated coconut- 3 tsp
turmeric powder- 3/4 tsp
aagri red chilli powder- 3 tsp
garam masala powder- 3/4 tsp
salt
oil
Method-
heat 3 tbsp oil in pan, add crushed chilli,garlic and ginger. saute on low flame. Add turmeric and red chilli powder. mix. add 1 glass of water. bring it to boil. add fish and salt. cover with cook for 15 mins. after 15mins, add coriender,garam masala powder, taramind pulp and dry coconut and mix. cover and cook for more 5 mins. if required add water.after 5 mins serve hot with rice or bhakri
