Going into this project, I severely underestimated how many Simpsons episodes Kent Brockman was in. Going over his satirical elements, personality stuff, and spotlight episodes made this surprisingly one of the longest Simpsons Histories videos. (Also Season 13 is up next.)

I have just noticed how Kent may be the only Simpsons character that we usually see front-facing but doesn't look cursed at all. That's peak character design.

Here's the weirdest thing about Kent Brockman: he's the only Simpsons character that looks LESS weird when facing straight ahead.

Kent is honestly one of those characters that I tend to forget about until he's actually on the screen. He really is a surprisingly prevalent character throughout the show's run though.

Without knowing precisely what TheRealJims is, would you say it’s time for his viewers to crack each other’s heads open and feast on the goo inside?

Kent is great as a parody of small town local celebrities too, that was always my favorite aspect of his character. His super inflated sense of importance and sense of celebrity when no one outside Springfield likely even knows who he is. EVERY small and medium sized town or city has at least one or two of these people and the parody of that has always been hilarious to me lol.

I'm amazed they never made use of Barney's helicopter license and had him get a job as an Eye in the Sky for the news, competing with Arnie. His sober years make him a very down to earth character that I think plays off the more sensational and jaded news crew. Edit: I just realized, Arnie & Barney, like it was meant to be

"I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Democracy simply doesn't work." One of my single favorite moments in the history of the show - possibly second only to Apu's rant about Johnny and the Cloneasuarus.

The apology for “geezers in freezers” is probably my favorite Brockman line. Either that or “dozens of people are gunned down every day in Springfield, but until now none of them was important.” I vote for an Arnie Pye history. I believe he first appeared in the Tracy Ullman shorts. Plus “I can’t see through metal, Kent” is a very underrated line.

Kernie needs his own Simpson’s histories, I have no idea how old he’s supposed to be

I like how Kent portrays multiple styles of journalism: - cynical ‘ambulance chaser’ stories - softball puff/celebrity pieces - judgemental editorials - magazine-style stories (like “Eye on Springfield”) - occasional hard-hitting investigative stories. There’s a different type of Kent for every situation.

I will once again put in a vote for my boys Captain McAllister, Jasper and Duffman for a future episode. After such a major minor as Kent, a minor minor character might be a good choice, I‘d say.

Once again throwing my hat in the ring for Agnes Skinner, the Springfield bullies (Jimbo, Kearney, and Dolph), Mrs. Hoover, Comic Book Guy, Captain McCallister, and a full analysis of Maggie Simpson. For being a main cast member, she holds a very unique place in the series that I'd love to see people talk about more.

Ms Hoover would be a great subject. She has played one of Lisa’s biggest foils on the show and also makes a great contrast to Krabappel as a teacher.

Always excited for a new Simpsons histories! Do groundskeeper Willie next! One of the most important and oldest secondary characters and has been in Springfield Elementary regular since the very series beginning. Would love a deeper look on the grizzly, kilted Scotsman.

Everytime a new Simpsons Histories is uploaded I'm pleasantly surprised, I never really considered Kent for example but there seems to be a lot more to him than I thought. Also, I vote for Santa's Little Helper for the next one.

I'd like to cast my vote and my voice heard for Superintendent Chalmers. The man who actually taught Bart something.

Ken's morals are kinda interesting. He's this jaded, rich, right-leaning media personality, but he also has some integrity. Despite his addiction to soft news and general cynicism, Ken genuinely loves journalism. He's sort of a middle ground between Lisa and Krusty.

Just wanna say, congrats big time on keepin this goin for ten yrs now. I had no idea this channel was that old, havin only found it like a couple yrs ago. I absolutely love that you picked that as your first video too.

I’d like to see a histories on Lisa’s music teacher Dewey Largo. He has been part of the show from the beginning, but as far as I know has yet to have a real spotlight episode.

Honestly I'd love a video about Luigi; he gets a ton of recurring one-off jokes and I'd be really curious if they fit together in some weird way.

"Let's grab someone more down to earth this time" Bumblebee Man. OK, that's a joke, how about Lenny and Karl? We got Richard and Lewis, and seeing how many characters tied to Homer we got (Mr. Burns' past, Barney, Smithers, even Maude in a perspective), it's only fair to give the spotlight to his two best friends... Besides Moe...

Definitely a character I've wanted to get this treatment. Kent was the original Ron Burgundy.

Once again, I'm going to say Lenny and Carl. I know there's a lot of interesting stuff to work with there, a very interesting dynamic, a lot of development there with their relationship over time... I just really want Lenny and Carl to finally get an episode.

I really wish we got more of Arny pie he seems like one of the most versatile and annoyingly hilarious characters that hasn't been played out

You pointed at 2012 as a mile stone and I was like, "oh, he's been doing this for like 6 years wow." Nope. 2012 was 10 years ago. Thats weird. That being said, love what you've been doing and I know I'm looking forward to more!

For down-to-earth characters, I'd say Lenny or Ms. Hoover would make great subjects.

I love Kent’s news exposition in Treehouse of Horror IX “... and the fluffy kitten played with that ball of string all through the night. On a lighter note, a Kwik-E-Mart clerk was brutally murdered last night.” 😂 makes me laugh every time

I think my favorite Ken bit is when it smash cuts to him in front of the elementary school in Grade School Confidential and he says in his news voice “It turns out I’ve been had.” Like the delivery just makes me laugh every time.

Here we are again! I am yet again shilling for my favorite senior citizen, Jasper! His delivery is always on point. A great minor character.

Like Dr. Hibbert, Kent is both a pivotal and background character. Like, you can forget about him if you don't see him, but he's got so much involvement with plot and with The Simpsons you can't imagine the show without him. For sure could see an episode on the Sea Captain or Comic book Guy.

Him jumping into frame for ACTION NEWS! is my absolute favourite Kent Brockman moment.

I for one welcome our new Simpsons Histories overlord. Gonna again voice my support for Eddie and Lou for the next Histories video. since I'd love to see an in depth look at how the roles of these two have changed over the years. they always just seemed like "those 2 named cops" who appear together in the early seasons. but in any modern episode I've seen either of them in, it seems that Eddie has practically faded into the background while Lou now more often gets paired up with Chief Wiggum, to act as his comedic foil, always taking the chief down a peg with remarks about his incompetence or weight. And I'm just wondering when that change in the character dynamic started to happen and if there's any actual substance or development to Eddie's character and how the show uses him compared to Lou. And then also if Lou has any depth to his character outside of just snarking at his boss.

A special episode about the evolution of the neighbors of the Simpsons could be fascinating ! We know about Ruth and George Bush, but what about the others and how it evolve over time ? That would be fascinating !!

I'd be really interested in an episode about Dolph. Despite appearing in hundreds of episodes he's definitely the least defined out of the school bullies, I'm pretty sure his name has only said in the show several times.

My favorite Kent Brockman bit is when we come in at the end of a news story: "Authorities say the phony Pope can be recognized by his high-top sneakers, and incredibly foul mouth." "Authorities believe the wave of towel-snappings will get worse before it gets better." As for a future episode, I err, vote Quimby.

That podcast ep absolutely blew me away when Disney Plus finally got round to adding s32. It's just so dang good. Possibly even top ten Simpsons post the golden years up there with stuff like the Book Job good.

My second favorite Kent Brockman bit, behind "Hail Ants" of course, is the Smartline episode when the cat burglar calls in and Kurt mentions it is not a call in show. That clip of the goat is probably my favorite joke involving Kent. I love how he storms out, legit sounds like his voice actor has had enough as well, it’s great.

Once again I am astounded at the level of work you put into this series. Another triumph!

"Eye on Springfield" was a great segment. Kick ass opening tune, wonderfully arranged scenes used for said opening and lots of nice girls :3 INFOTAINMENT!!!!

The run down of topics for Eye on Springfield almost killed me. I have a cold atm, and the laugh/cough fit as they were reeled off nearly finished me. What a way to go though.

Please do Chief Wiggum and include his strange relationship with the Simpson family. He's interacted with the family countless times even being best friends with Homer yet some episodes he seems completely unaware of who they are.

(IV) Duffman or Disco Stu next pleeaaase!! They're my absolute favourites, the writting of their one liners is absolutely genius and for me, they both have the ability to be the highlight of an episode with mere seconds of screen time, which is no mean feat! Oooh yeah!

10 years of sporadic Realjims Simpsons videos, how time flies. Keep on keeping on. I'd put a Simpsons quote here, but you've heard them all before. Wiggum gets my vote, not for next Simpsons Histories, but the next next next one. That's three away!

I was watching a gameshow, Tenable (whose premise was to name the top ten of a subject,) and one of the questions was "Top ten simpsons characters with the most number of lines in the show." Kent Brockman was the only one that the contestants didn't guess.

Great video, I never could really tell how seriously he actually took his job and his 'passion' for news. Also I'm always going to suggest Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney!

I do like Kent, especially when he goes all crazy or is taken down a peg. How about doing a video about someone new added to the cast? Like Kumiko Albertson, Shauna Chalmers, declan Desmond,, Eleonora Abernathy or under used people like Akira, Artie Ziff, or Charlie?

The line about his daughter being right about the Berlin Wall is one of my favourites in the history of the show. It flaws me every time.

These breakdowns are crazy. I thought I new a lot about the Simpsons. I think I would do pretty good at trivia for the first 12 seasons or so maybe up n until John Goodman kidnapped marge with his biker gang , but all I can say is wow these are on another level….. Props…… proprrrr!
