For anyone still playing sims 3, you can mask the warped wall with panelling. Use the ones that are full wooden walls. It hides it so well you can't see the warped wall at all.

I have always struggled with the stairs, and hated not being to create a split level type look. THANK YOU for this! I know this vid is a bit older, but man, this made my absolute day today! :)

They should have the L and U staircase on The Sims 4 without the cheat and level terrain.

Jeez I hope so!! The way it is now is so nonlinear and frustrating!

Sally Griffin Yeah even though Sims 3 has already L stairs in The Prism Art Studio but most of the people couldn't afford one...

LJ Evans I don't own the sims 4 (and probably wont for a few years, til they iron out the bugs and add more content) but Ive seen some gameplay videos, I think it might be possible to make those types of staircases, because the walls have 3 heights now, maybe you can't slant the walls, but you can raise them around the staircase

Hey James, I have the biggest issue with these stairs when I am near the finalizing of my projects... just like you I get last minute ideas and want to "hey, lets throw in a L shaped staircase".... can you show us how you personally handle this detailing issue. I often get so aggravated that my OCD forces me to deconstruct the entire house.

This is great! It's a lot simpler and quicker than other tutorials I've seen. But I do wish EA had better handling on U and L-shaped stairs. I remember it was so much easier in TS2 because the platform was four stairs high.

I hope in sims 4 they make split leveling an actual building tool. It would be so useful! Along with making basements part of the main house too, not a separate part that you can't build up the walls.

While this is a great tutorial, unfortunately, it still doesn't solve my problem of how to build a U-shaped stairwell inside a house. This works if the stairs are going to be on the outer wall of a building, but if the staircase is in the heart of the house, and has walls around it for other rooms (say a laundry room), this won't work.
@columbia199310 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, to do a walk-out basement, you have to use TS2 basement building and not the basement tool. You have to build your house on a foundation and then level the back to basement floor level, remove the foundation back to just a 1 tile edge around the "basement" parts and then place a wall where the ground is at basement level. Check TS2 walkout basement tutorials. As for the stairs, you'll have to fudge around with adding a 1 tile room that you can adjust the height. Again check TS2

I freaked out yesterday while trying to make L-shaped stairs. Ended up with regular stairs. After your tutorial I see my mistake: i put walls by perimeter of the "mid-platform". They were getting crooked when i wanted to even the wall height upstairs, unless i left a spacious hole in the "ceiling" around the staircase. Got to go for another try! Let me see if i can build L-staicase which platform is not in the middle of the wall, but 1/3...

Thank you so much! Do you think you could figure this out for the Sims 4 too? You can't dig down in the terrain (so no pools or basements), but a lot of houses call for L or U shaped stairs. It would be amazing if you could figure this out haha Thanks again!
