The voice actor wanted more money for her work, but she wanted more than what she was actually working for. I don’t know the full story but that’s what I’ve heard. (If anyone wants to correct me, feel free to do so).

모드 성우가 문제였다기에는 모드 성우가 연기하는 다른 캐릭터(Ex: 헬렌 러브조이)들은 여전히 잘 나오는거 봐서는 다른 이유였을수도 있어요.

모드의 죽음은 사실 좀 갑작스러운 편인데, 외적인 부분이 관여를 했을 가능성이 크다. 해외의 심슨 팬들 중에서는 시즌 9의 가짜 시모어 스키너 에피소드를[9] 기점으로 점점 시청률 하락을 겪던 심슨 가족 제작진들이 스토리상의 자극을 위해서 죽였다는 설이 정설이다. 한편 모드를 담당한 성우의 계약 문제 때문에 더이상 출연하지 못하게 죽였다는 설도 있지만 이는 사실이 아니다. 시즌1부터 모드를 맡은 매기 로스웰은 모드 이외에도 헬렌 러브조이나 루앤 밴 하우튼 등 다른 조연 캐릭터들을 30개가 넘는 시즌에서 빠짐없이 계속 맡고 있다. 게다가 중간중간에 고인드립 성격으로 할로윈 에피소드에 모드가 등장할 때마다 잘만 맡아왔다. 정말로 로스웰을 하차시키려했으면 모드 뿐만 아니라 해당 성우가 맡은 다른 캐릭터들도 사망 처리를 하거나 비중을 줄이거나 성우를 교체했어야 할텐데 그러지 않았다.

I remember when this came out the first time I was thinking at that moment "did that really just happen" thinking she was going to be hurt and recover or something, it also introduced the concept to me of people dying in a animated show
