Жыл бұрынThousands of people have gathered in the Irish town of Bray to witness Sinead O'Connor's funeral cortege.
A round of applause greeted the procession as it paused outside the singer's home, and people later broke into a rendition of her 1990 hit Nothing Compares 2 U.
O'Connor died aged 56 after being found unresponsive in her London home a fortnight ago.

Quran 2:282 Allah declares that the testimony of a woman is worth only half that of a man. Quran 4:34 Allah declares that men have permission to beat their disobedient wives.

Yes. I think she should be remembered most for this. She could have used her talent to simply create another pretty girl pop romp. Instead, knowing it would cost her financially and in terms of popularity, she chose to deliver a message-even one we didn’t think we wanted to hear. She was courageous. Her integrity was her gift to us.

She was like no other. Not once did she sell shampoo, lie to her fans, capitalize on her beauty or sex appeal for money or attention. She was for the people. I can't think of any other like her. Someone blessed with such gifts, physical and spiritual. She was a holy woman and we were so blessed to have her. I pray we remember her example and her message. Be true. And give a shit!!

One of the points that needs to be emphasized again and again: The media coverage following her death have said that her musical output following her big early 90s hits was somehow lackluster or substandard, somehow in decline; that she's primarily known for her Prince cover. Which is incredibly false. Album after album, in diverse genres, were excellent, and innovative. Despite her personal struggles, her musical genius was always stable and in bloom--it never faltered. Much love and respect to Sinead and her loved ones.
