5:38 Reaction start Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey🦊🤘🔥 I think i remember you from another channel introducing BM to another friend iirc, cool to have you back. This is not just another song on BM setlist but also like here, it was the ender for the show at The Babyklok Tour around the US already finished and everyone loved to have fun with this one. They're gonna start another live tour in Europe with headlining shows and more is coming next year. "Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthem and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. It's all about facing your own path without looking back. Here's some basic info to refresh your mind: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: - SuMetal, lead vocalist, now 25. - MoaMetal, scream and dance, now 24. - YuiMetal, scream and dance, former member since 2018. - MomoMetal, scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. None of them are related and neither with anime stuff except for certain reference in some live performance during early era. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. They did a Tokyo Dome live show next year in 2016 (2 nights) so yeah, that was even bigger with 55k fans each night. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). They are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. Right now since the live tour started this year the West Kami Band is taking charge as a backing band, and all of them are westerners musicians giving another flavour to this group. Hope to see you around with the new songs from The Other One as well the most recent one called METALI!! feat Tom Morello. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

I was at a point where I thought Rock was dead at every level here in the US. Then I found out rock and metal got visas and moved to Japan. There are so many great bands of rock, hard rock and metal there that you need to see and listen to. also sounds like the youngling needs to see and hear more from the '60s and '70s too. BABYMETAL is NOT anime - never has been and, with any luck, never will be (manga, on the other hand, is a different story). Evidently, many people jump to anime simply because they are singing in Japanese, and anime is the only place they’ve ever heard Japanese singing. Would they still sound like anime if they were singing in French or German or Swedish or English? An observation made by someone on Reddit: "A lot of Japanese people who listen to BABYMETAL never talk about anime (because there is nothing anime in BABYMETAL) and often wonder what's with those stupid anime comments from the West." There were approximately 20,000 fans at this concert in 2015 - BABYMETAL started in 2011. This was performed at the Saitama Super Arena but BABYMETAL has performed at the Tokyo Dome in September 2016 two nights back-to-back with 55,000 fans each night.

BABYMETAL is a new subgenre called BABYMETAL, a play on the words "heavy" and "baby," which also means to create new songs. We don't do a single anime song. Just because a girl sings doesn't necessarily mean she sings an anime song.

The sing along portion... You may not know, this was only the 3rd live performance of this song ever and the first one with a big audience. The first 2 times they performed this song had a total of 8,000 in attendance. This show was at the Satima Super Arena which has a total capacity of over 35,000. Because of their massive stage set up, the total attendance wasn't quite that large. The amazing thing is that, for nearly everyone in the audience, this was their first time hearing this song. It was released as a digital download bonus track on the "special edition" of an album that dropped 1 or 2 days before this show. Other than that, they performed this song at a 3,000 person venue in Tokyo the month before this and several months earlier, this song's debut, for 5,000 in London.

👍 👍 Welcome back good to see you again. Here is some info. BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.

The backup band are called the Kami Band, and they're made up of a rotating group of regular set musicians. There's always a drummer, bass player, and two guitarists, but there's more than 4 musicians, so that they can swap in and out depending on who's available to tour. There's also the Western Kami, who operate similarly, but are westerners, to make international touring easier. Fewer people and instruments to send halfway around the entire planet.

Lungs of a champion athlete. The last song of a concert filled with frenzied songs and choreographed movements and still do all that lastly without keellng over dead. RESPECT seems weirdly inadequate for what they accomplish in a concert. Imagine, for their Physical size, weight, stamina and age. For all they do it is amazing. At this concert Su had barely turned 16. Yui and Moa 14. What they've achieved in their young lives and the true and openly voiced respect from other Bands and legends from the music industry in all genres has been overwhelming positive and a worldwide fan base that grows year on year and has endured now 14 years. Even Yui retiring for health concerns and the tragic death of Kami band guitarist Mikio has not stopped BM. They endure and the latest Album and world tour along with wonderful and talented new member Momo, they continually prove to all the doubters that they are BabyMetal and are far removed from the undeserved title of a ' gimmick band.' Proven beyond a doubt that BM is a kawaii force of nature, here to stay. Time is also changing the hearts and minds of even the most ardent Heavy Metal purists. Not all. But given time I'm sure most will come around eventually. Su metal Moa and Momo metal and absent (never forgotten) Yui. Kami Band east and west. The Mastermind, the support team and all involved in BabyMetal. Everyone, they all deserve praises for what they have Achieved. The work involved from there to here 2024 can only be imagined. But Staggering, monumental and unbelievable are probably nowhere close to what was actually required. And whilst not wishing to speak for other's. Myself personally, I cannot thank them all enough. The pleasure from hearing, watching and being a part of something quite magical. Has, for one in the later years of life. It Has been an extraordinarily fulfilling time and for that I am truly grateful. That others enjoy BM in their later years, and considering age differences. It is a testament to Babymetals enduring popularity. Catering to all using or fusing different genres. Resulting in some bizarre yet pleasing concoctions that place BM in a category of one. Such a unique concept. A concept that may get copied. But it will never be equalled.

That breakdown was just fantastic and whoever did the arrangement was masterful. And The Kami Band are some of the best session musicians on the planet. At first it was just Japanese musicians, but as Baby Metal became bigger and more popular the band added American musicians because of so many concert tours in the West. So now there is Kami Band East and Kami Band West. And the lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto a/k/a Su-Metal, is a world-class vocalist with a very strong and powerful voice that is usually not the norm when people think of Asian singers. She has been involved in singing competitions from a very young age and is a superstar.

No. They were not teenagers when they started. They all attended what we in America call a performing arts school, in iapan theyre called Idol groups. All 3 met at an idol group called Sakura Gakuin which consisted of 12 members. Within the main 12 sub groups were formed consisting of 3- 8 members and BM started as one of these sub groups, the Heavy Music club. It was renamed to Baby Metal by their first public concert within Sakura Gakuin in 2010. Su, the lead singer was 12 amd Moa & Yui were 10. BM started as young girls and even at that age theye were just as amazing as they are now. Their first song was Dokie Dokie Morning and there's a video out there on KZfaq showing them in the recording booth recording it. They were VERY young. Theyve worked their butts of for 14 years and theyre getting better and better.

There are two bands, The Gods of the East and The Gods of the West. The band was inclusively called Kami Band, "Kami" means god in Japanese. The East (it's them who are playing in this video) is consisted from Japanese players, and the West is American players. I believe that they formed the West because of it was easier for the US tour. At the two-day show in January 2020, Tokyo, the East played on Day 1, the West played on Day 2, and both of them played on the same stage to play the last songs in the shows.

The earliest version of BabyMetal had a band whose faces were never seen - an anonymous backup band whose members were fluid. The band membership soon became more stable, and became known as the "Kami Band" - at which point the hiding of faces went away. The band is not technically part of BabyMetal, but the strong association makes that an academic point. I don't know of BabyMetal having done any anime themes (yet), but the Wagakki Band has - definitely check them out as they blend traditional Japanese instruments and music with metal instruments and music - and do so beautifully!

Welcome back - and good job introducing Josh to BABYMETAL for the first time.🤘🦊 I think Jake Muller has provided most, if not all, of the info - I scribbled down a couple of your questions, so I'll just answer those at the risk of repeating some of what Jake has said. You were right first time, they were just singing "wowowowowo" in the call and response part - Su may have made it "Vowow" at that point. Jake already explained the Kami Band and who was playing in this concert. No BABYMETAL song has been used in any anime. They did record the theme for something, but it was not one of their own songs or one they have ever played live. It was certainly not on one of their albums. Also I won't be giving anybody a hard time for mixing up Transfomers (or whatever it was you said) and anime ... other than one being American and the other Japanese I wouldn't know the difference either. They started in 2010 - Su was 12, Yui and Moa were both 11. This was filmed at the Saitama Super Arena in January 2015 - Su was just 17, Yui and Moa were still only 15. This crowd was a little over 20,000. They did play the Tokyo Dome in 2016 and sold it out 2 nights running (55,000 people each night) - and they played a completely different set list each night. I hope you will be back with more BABYMETAL reactions very soon - they released an album in March and they have only recently finished a long tour of the US co-headlining with Dethklok

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) - Pretty much a master class in audience control. From a 17 year old, and two 15 year olds. BABYMETAL believe that if a song sounds too much like one genre, then it's not a BABYMETAL song. You can definitely feel the speed metal in this one though. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce provided guitar tracks for the studio version. Guitarists for this show were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer Hideki Aoyama. The more you get into music from Japan, the more familiar these guys will be. This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) in January of 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. BABYMETAL's lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) first appeared at Saitama Super Arena in 2008 as the youngest member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. She's been back many times since, headlining with BABYMETAL.

Hell yeah, good to see you introducing a friend to Babymetal. 20K at this concert (2015), and 55K at their Tokyo Dome concerts the following year (2016, sold out 2 nights in a row too). By this concert, Su was 17, and Moa and Yui were 15, and they have been performing since 2010. Despite their age, they are at this point, professionals in their industries, and somewhat established internationally already. While Babymetal is just the girls, their live band, Kami Band, has been playing with them since ~2012. While there have been a few rotating members, their core band members are the same throughout. The major changes were the loss of guitarist Mikio Fujioka due to his untimely passing in 2018, and the introduction of Kami Band West (Americans) in 2019 to assist with their increased tour intensity. "Not at all what I was expecting" / "Awe-struck" will continue for almost every one of their songs, as they are ALL different! Other suggestions: Monochrome, from Pia Arena MM (April 2023). It's a hard rock song with metal elements, and you can see their progression when they are 25 / 24! iine (official music video): 2nd song ever by Babymetal, so they are super young and smol. This is an incredible mashup of so many genres and it is so awesome and energetic. BxMxC: 2019/2020 time frame. Heavy AF metal + rap. ❤‍🔥 🤘🦊

Babymetal has not done any songs for anime. That said....Lead singer Su-metal at age 9 was a member if the pop trio Karen Girls who was created to sing songs for the anime "Zettai Karen Girls". Babymetal did sing the opening theme song to Cartoon Network's "Unikitty". If you listen to Lil Uzi Vert's "The End" which Babymetal collaborated on, you will see why many BM fans call it "Unikitty extended version". 😂

Su-Metal, the lead singer of Babymetal was in a 3 girl group before Babymetal that sang songs for an anime called Zettai Karen Children. Babymetal themselves covered one of those songs a few times in their early days and there was one, maybe two, other anime covers done in the early days but other than that, there is no real connection to anime. The band, which is called the Kami band, are seeion musicians but they are usually the same group out there every time with occasional substitutions. There is a second Kami band which formed in 2019 for the US world tour. I'm not sure but it was likley because of schedule conflicts and visa issues so a 'western Kami band' was formed made up of 3 members of Galactic Empire and Anthony Barone, formerly of the band 'Shadow of Intent'. Su and the crowd were both singing woah ohh ohh ohh

Good job introducing your friends to BABYMETAL's Foxhole! Their live debut was in November 28th 2010 and It took them 4 years, 1 month and 12 days to get there. That's the Saitama Super Arena (SSA) and yes, it was the Olympic venue for basketball. In that configuration it has a capacity of over 20.000 people. The previous year (2014) they performed two back to back shows at the famous Nippon Budokan stadium and they were the youngest female act to perform there. It's considered a very prestigious venue and a life goal for any artist in Japan. It was build for the Tokyo 1964 Olympics. They also performed two back to back shows at the Tokyo Dome in 2016. Don't worry, they just say woohohoh (or similar) 😁 No, they have nothing to do with any anime thing besides some early cover and the fact that Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal), the lead singer, was in a girl group that sang for an anime before joining Sakura Gakuin and its "Jūon-bu" (heavy music club) aka BABYMETAL. She was 10 at the time. 🤘🦊

Great song/video to introduce Babymetal with, super reaction. As an old school metalhead(started with Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden) back in the 70's....and there was much more theatrics in the shows then current. If you're going to continue to introduce hard rock/metal from the newer(last 10 years or so) era...you should also do a reaction to Band-Maid for a more hard rock sound from Japan.

I've only recently discovered Babymetal myself...and I am now obsessed. Who puts on a performance like this. Every single element-vocals, choreography, music, lights, staging, crowd control, everything-is executed down to a nano-second. I believe at this show Su (lead vocals) was 17 and Yiu and Moa (backup vocals, screams and crowd control) were 15. And like you said they just controlled that arena and crowd. That takes confidence and skill and to do so at that age. It's mind blowing. The amount of energy expended by the ladies and Kami Band in a concert boarders on being enough to power a small city! Fun reaction guys, really enjoyed it.
