He won with this one in 2002. It is one of the best performances I have ever seen at DMC finals. Kentaro is incredible.

when i saw this one for the first time, i felt like: damn, this is how a dj set has to be done. it seems to be impossible to do something like that. there aint a second that is wasted.. it is a set that shows 100% skill. ive seen a lot of dj sets, but this one belongs to one of the craziest and best sets ive ever seen. respect this guy for this set!

i remember the goose bumps and awe i felt when i watched this 15 years ago. I still refer to this set when "kids" talk about DJ'ing ... this is masterclass skills still in 2019 and do you see a laptop anywhere, NO YOU DONT!! This is putting little stickers on where to place that needle. Dedication, practice, beat matching .... JUST GOD DAMN SKILLS! To all those who are discovering this for the first time, enjoy!

What I really like about this set as opposed to others is that it’s actually music. Some of the turntableists are technically great but they don’t have a musical or melodic flow. This shit is just next level.

@MrRuffnecks Have to agree with you there, this is easily the best set i've heard. It never fails to convert a skeptic into a believer! The problem with most technically gifted DJs is they focus too much on showing off their technical ability (almost as if they're trying too hard to prove a point?) and neglect the artistic side. Kentaro maintains a vibe throughout the whole set... And he makes the technical stuff look like childs play. That's a true professional.

The thing I like about Kentaro compared to other turntablists/battle DJs is that he doesn't just have crazy skills, it also sounds great and you can still dance to it. He has a great ear for good music.
