Here's a couple of questions to all the viewers here who were born and raised in the US, if I may … I'm a Russian guy who is planning on taking a month-long vacation trip to the US for the first time ... My American buddies invited me over and told me that they could offer me a rent-free place to stay in a suburb of San Diego, California, and in downtown Austin, Texas ... Being on a tight budget, I would be able to visit only one of those states ... Which of them do you think I should choose and why?My main interests are practicing my American English with native speakers, visiting natural wonders and meeting single women searching for a life partner. Also, my friends suggested that I learn to use some US slang or I won’t be able to communicate with the local residents on a proper level but I’m not sure if it’s worth the effort … Won’t Americans be trying to express their thoughts in plain English seeing that they are dealing with a foreigner? Your advice would be greatly appreciated ... * Moscow, Russia

I wonder what previous movie this film's inspiration was, the 1998 You've Got Mail, or the original, classic 1940 The Shop Around the Corner starring Margaret Sullavan and James Stewart? For me, nothing beats the original because of its more complex plot (the side stories) and unpredictable ending.

It was a lovely update on The shop Around the Corner. I love both, and, maudlin romantic that I am, will now have to see this again several times, and find TSATC again. Strange how the very best modern movies are almost always updates on the greatest old movies!

I selute you for letting the boys run around without shoes. I grew up on a farm in South Africa and we never wore shoes and we grew up healthy and happy. We raised our son the same way. You guys are amazing parents. Ps. I am married to a Portuguese man and it took alot of convincing to let our son not wear hoes 😂😂

At minute 27 into the movie, I can only say that that poet-lover was very childish and dependent, which is probably why the girl left him without a reason - she couldn't stand having someone so unbalanced with his attachment and not distinct. and probably, if she would have sat down with him, he would start begging all over again and she might not be able to resist, maybe she also had a distinction problem, which made it necessary for her to leave ubruptly.
