I was in grade school when I'd listen to the carpenters becuz I always listened to the albums my older sisters played, and when they weren't there, I'd lip sync to the songs. Like my dads glen miller, my oldest sisters albums like Tastes of Honey, Barbara Streisand, etc, and my next sister was the same as my brother & third sister which were led zeppelin, pink floyd, yes, jefferson starship, jimi hendrix, janis Joplin etc but my last sister listened to soul, jazz, folk music and blues and I loved oldies being I was a chola and I wasnt mexicana just hung around tjem( lots of friends and boyfriends)- trying to de virginize me NEVA EVA. That was a gift on my wedding night. Moving on, and now I love almost all music except loud mouthed rap by emenen or M & NENS. Wanta be black boy. I dont care if that foo can rap. He's a fake and what he gets one, maybe 2 songs out a year if lucky.

I think it's not a word when at the end of the song the lyric on this video says "Why? Close to you." Sounds more like "Whaaaaaaa". Like the lyric after it is Haaaaaaa. So often people who make these lyric videos get the lyrics wrong.. thanks anyway for the effort. I love Karen's angelic voice!
