Yep, this is the "Sing, Sing, Sing" and it's only arranged for young players by Victor López. The classic drum solo along with a written out tenor solo, brass ranges within guidelines, and lots of meaty ensemble keep this great chart exciting. It will sound full with reduced instrumentation plus, there are optional parts included for flute, horn, baritone horn, and tuba. Still a showstopper. (2:16)

anyone else mad they didn't transcribe the floor tom at the beginning? thats like one of the most iconnic jazz drumbeats

Typically solos like this are never transcribed mainly because its the drummers time to shine, so its basically whatever they play in the moment

Add scoring for Bb clarinet

In jazz the clarinets play Bb trumpet parts, as there are no clarinet parts :)

@@traceyrich99 Maybe in school jazz bands, but some of the music from this era most definitely had their own clarinet parts. It depends on the band and their arranger, but usually its one of the altos or tenors that double on clarinet if there isn't a designated clarinet part written. Woodwinds in big bands at a professional level are expected to be able to double on clarinet and/or flute, and bari will occasionally have a bass clarinet part for a feature. It's definitely not in every arrangement but any experienced player can tell you it's not uncommon.

@@traceyrich99eh Moonlight serenade does. I happen to both the best clarinet and alto sax player at my school. So I play the clarinet solo for moonlight while the people that play clarinet play tenor sax. But this leaves my alto section in shambles

@@Avstinato interesting I didn't know that! We no longer let clarinet players into our jazz band but that was how we did things but sometimes I think we do things a bit different
