This is our first time to travel in Singapore and we have been very impressed with everything, especially the food! The breakfast in Singapore is also very good with the popular kaya toast. Kaya Toast is eaten as a snack or for breakfast in Singapore. Ya Kun Kaya Toast is one of the most popular chains and quickly became our favorite.

Hi Two Wheel Cruise. Singaporean here. When I saw you "pour" the soy sauce on the semi cooked egg, my heart stopped for a moment. And then you added another dash - and I got hysterical haha. OK on a serious note, we usually add a dash (maybe 1/2 a small teaspoon) - because some soy sauce are very salty and that is why we always add a dash and if that is not salty enough, we add a little more. Enjoy your stay in Singapore.

I'm born and bred in Singapore I have my eggs exactly 💯 like Cruise did - big swirl and then a dash more dark soy sauce. Perfect! Pro tip: Good quality dark soy sauce is less salty, deeper in flavour and body than light soy sauce. I wouldn't put that much light soy sauce, but that was the perfect amount of dark soy sauce! 👍

Sorry about that haha 😅 It honestly didn't taste too salty to us, maybe we were low on sodium from all the cycling lately. I'll have to try it again and experiment with different soy sauce amounts.

If they have light and dark soy sauce. You can add both. I do that at home. Light is salty, dark is slightly sweet.

Dark soy sauce are not so salty and even a hint of bitter aftertaste..so that looks just perfect,but I like to see the runny eggs yellowish,so probably won't twirl it like you do, but yeah this is my fave too. 👍😄

Yakun is a Hainanese coffee shop. This is one of the "must try" breakfast in Singapore. Next time you should also try the Malay and Indian breakfast. These are very nice too.🥰

I had the priviledge to eat at the founder Ya Kun's humble stall @telok ayer street when I was a kid. Little did all of us knew that his children would setup the franchise that expand even to Tokyo. Sugoi

That chicken sandwich Thuong had really elevated my hunger this morning, as I haven't as yet had breakfast. Just coffee. Sorry, I can't eat runny eggs. If the egg whites were fully cooked and mixed with the soy sauce, yes! I'm with Thuong on that. By the way, do they serve an American style breakfast? I think it would be a great idea if you shoot more food videos. After all, that's a highlight of any tourist . . . food. Sorry, but I have to comment again, as I still can't get over how impeccably clean it is there. Other countries, especially here in the US, should follow their fine example. Looking forward to seeing more videos from Singapore. 👍

Hello from your home state of Michigan! Do you miss the more pronounced change of seasons? The fall colors were really beautiful here this year. I like sunny side up and over easy eggs that are runny but those eggs look a bit undercooked to me. I vote for more food videos. 👍 Stay safe you two!

That’s the chinese breakfast. U can try springleaf prata for the indian breakfast and nasi lemak for the malay breakfast. If u come down in june or dec, let me know, we go for a food ride ard singapore.

The chicken sandwich, from what I can see looks like its filled with char siu meat, in that case its actually pork meat and sweet not spicy. The red is from the spices and the meat is glazed with sweet stuff

Among the various kaya toast food chains we have here in Singapore, personally I like Ya Kun's kaya toast and eggs the most. And I also quite like their Teh C (tea with evaporated milk). So good choice to go for Ya Kun. TMI. Toast Box (which you can see one of their outlets in the background... haha...) has my least fav kaya toast.

Yakun's eggs are usually better and thicker in flavour than others. The sandwich is probably chicken char siew sandwich. A kind of sweet Chinese bbq sauce. People ride bicycle for many purpose. There's also Ride to Eat. It's part of cycling 🤣

Please try more different food videos, can recommend you guys to try some local food list: *Chinese Rojak (pronounce as row-jug); Indian Rojak; *Katong Laksa (pronounce as luck-sar); Chinese fried carrot cake(black or white style, pronounce as chai-tow-guay); nonya dessert shop opposite Katong i01 shopping mall call KIM CHOO famous for it's savoury rice dumplings & different kinds of kueh (sweet dessert), must try Oneh Oneh, it's a glutinious rice ball, & when you put inside your mouth, a sweet gula melaka juice will burst inside your mouth (like Harry Potter's candy)... etc, can't recommend too much, enjoy the food slowly while you guys are here. I never liked coffee rides since I didn't really drink coffee haha. The TWC equivalent is Taiyaki Ride, which sadly we can't do anymore. But I also like riding to a good bakery for some bread.

“We are breaking all the rules” Hahaha! The only rule is, if you enjoy it .. its all that matters. Taste and habits differs from each individual. Yakun is good, the quality is rather constant. But I personally like the kaya toast near my office better. Slightly crusty on the outside, over the charcoal grill, soft on the inside. Salivating as i am typing this 😅

Except for the runny eggs, everything looks great. Sorry, no runny eggs, ever!! Besides the cycling infrastructure, I’m impressed with how clean everything is. I hate seeing trash and graffiti. Be safe. Be well. Blessings.

Good food is good for the morale, especially after a big ride. I really think cyclists understand this the best. I’ve read articles in bicycle magazines that have many recipes. I’d like to see someone create healthy homemade food to bring on bike rides. Something anyone can make. Like Clif Bars or the old-school Power Bars. (I miss the chocolate Power Bars, I wish they would bring them back!)

If u want more sugar in your coffee, ask for kopi ga dai (more sugar), less sweet=kopi siew dai (less sugar). Coffee with evaporated milk (less sinful)= kopi c..normal coffee is served with condensed milk.

I honestly don't know how you can eat those half cooked eggs everything else looks yum but not those eggs God bless your stomach Thuong's park and garden walks are exceptional i have never seen anything like these places in my life Thank you both for some fascinating videos Thuong i love your appetite eat his toast and eggs no problem HAHA .

Phew ! Thuong is such a greedy guts that she could have left you feeling hungry! I was a bit surprised by that. You obviously enjoyed your breakfast ,but it was nutritionally not the best, between the heavily salted soy sauce and the saturated fat from the sweet coconut spread and the butter. There would be much better tasty alternatives, but it is good to have a treat from time to time .

It is not a good idea to add lots of sauce in anything because you cannot salvage it if it is too much. Better to add some and if it isn't enough, you can add in more.
