Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power has praised Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong as “completely right” for his criticism of the woke movement.
Lee Hsien Loong has criticised the ‘woke’ movement that has overtaken much of the West and its institutions.
“He’s completely right,” Ms Power told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“Look at us as a society - we’re so much stronger when we’re in solidarity with one another.”

We have better things to do. Changing the wokeness into actual action plans to reduce rubbish, get clean water and recycling etc... not just sit there in the middle of the road and make a statement. And then? Wait for solutions to drop down from sky and suddenly become green eh? Seriously.... Singapore is definitely very concerned about global issues for we are one without natural resources. We just.. try to make things work and survive, not just be 'woke and in daze'. We wake up and work hard to make real changes that help lives. Not disrupt lives.

Like the wise from ancient china always said, too much freedom will lead to destruction. freedom is nice, but there is a limit, a country is build by an ideology, not by people creating ideology that benefit themselves. you know why china and other asian countries are improving at tremendous rate? because they are always being taught by their elders and keep on following a path thats been carved by their predecessors, there are rules and regulations. but in the west, theres no such things. its all about freedom, freedom this and freedom that, and in the end it leads to this mess. white supremacy, hate on other races, gun violence, looting stores, homeless occupying streets, druggies everywhere. now theres woke BS, a male claiming to be female, dressing like female, and raping other female. male criminals going to female jail, impregnating female inmates…outside of prison they need to pay to hump, in prison its all you can hump

However, western values are definitely growing. For example, 377A was over turned because of strong youth support and demand. Singapore is one of the most misunderstood countries that I know of. 1. While Singapore doesn't have a high ranking in the freedom index, it doesn’t mean it is run by a corrupt government. In fact, it actually ranks as the 5th least corrupt country in the world. 2. Singapore doesn't ban chewing gum. Singapore only bans the sale and import of large amounts of chewing gum. Edit: It is actually illegal to bring chewing gum in any quantity into Singapore. I was previously under the impression that only a small quantity was ok 3. While Singapore ranks as an expensive place to live in, it also ranks as the happiest country in Asia. Furthermore, it is the only country I have heard of that limits the number of cars in the whole country. This is why buying a car, which is included in the cost of living, is so expensive. Instead, most people have to take a bus or train instead. 4. Speaking of trains and buses, Singapore also ranks among the world's best public transport systems.

There is much to learn from Singapore's approach to solving problems, be it housing, education, healthcare or racial and religious conflicts. As a Singaporean, I am proud to say we have done well in all these areas as compared to other countries and this is not by chance. The people must want to support the government they vote for. You see infighting in a lot of other countries and anything but real efforts to solve real issues. People start to get disillusioned with the leaders. They question if the leaders even have the solutions. Our leaders are not perfect themselves; they are held accountable to high standards of ethics and behaviour. Leaders who fall short are taken to task and some have resigned owing to personal indiscretions. You don't see this happening in other countries where such lack of ethics is condoned and even treated as a norm.

You can't compare both of them. They became leaders for different generations with different expectations. Lee Kuan Yew led during a time when even the mere survival of Singapore is called into question, and he brought Singapore into a thriving state. GCT came in to carry on and enhance what LKY has.done. Finally LHL stepped in when things have more or less settled down, and his focus was to bring Singapore into the technological revolution through digital and healthcare transformation. Of the 3 PMs, of course LKY's contribution would be best remembered because in some sense, he made the "impossible", possible because nobody believed Singapore would survive.
