I was completely blown away by his performance, a soon as he started singing, "Did I disappoint you.." it gave me chills. I was immediately drawn into his world, into the song. I really think this performance is at a whole other level compared to other contestants including past seasons. I usually get so mesmerised only when listening to those highly experience singers. Like in the show I am a Singer, even then, not all could mesmerise me like that. My only slight dissatisfaction is the way he handles the chorus, even at the very last. I was expecting for him to kind of scream with his real voice. Or maybe it wasn't loud enough or he didn't maintain the high notes a little longer. Either way it lacks that feeling of despair as he shouts "Goodbye my lover..." especially towards the end, it felt a little anti climatic, considering how perfect it begin.

same feeling, totally agree with you that the performance could have been better with some high notes being shouted out in the last part...though it's already the best performance of the night

During his audition, his normal voice is a little coarse. Even in this performance during the chorus, there are some bits where he used his real voice, but it was so brief, and he didn't get really high. It seems like he's holding himself back. Maybe it was a tactical move to reserve some of his skill for later, hahahaha.

For me, not just episodes. Definitely best so far including all performances from the other 4 seasons. I mean it really gave me chills, and considering he's singing English song, it's very very impressive.

Raf Irvin Best English songs. Kiss was also unbelievable. It really is a difficult song to pull off. Not a lot of Chiense singers are able to pull of that kind of vibe, not even the professionals. Unless they were raised in western culture or something, not to mention his English pronunciation was also spot on. Bot of all the songs including auditions, there are actually several I really like. I like that long haired girl with the jeans. Her singing isn't impressive, but it just hits me emotionally too. I've been listening to several of the songs on loop and I actually listened to hers the most. It's just such a pleasure.

I think it's very amazing. I can still pick up a little accent on him on just very small bits of the song, and based on that I think he is not fluent in English or doesn't speak it at all. But his pronunciation is spot on, no doubt, and I think assuming he's either not speaking or not fluent with the language that was incredible. I think what most of the contestants in this show(including the other 4 seasons of the show this was ripped off) aren't able to handle and express the emotions of English songs the way they do with Chinese songs.

well, he did put a bit of his own twist on it at the end when he sang "i'm so hollow", coupled with a mild intermittent hoarse voice that wasn't exactly similar to blunt, who inspired the crowd when performing an emotional piano live version.
