This tutorial will teach you how to thread the Singer 66 sewing machine. This particular version of the 66 is made in the 1930s, and she is still going strong! I love the larger arm for quilting.

I have my Momma’s. She was given this machine in 1950 when she graduated High School. I’ve seen with this machine since I was 5. I’ve thrown away several Brothers. They cannot hold a candle to this fantastic machine.

I'm so thankful for this video, because it is the only sowing machine I've had available to me while making masks for my family. The sowing machine was passed to me from my grandmother and I really love it and am thankful that I can continue using it (with the help of this video).

I have this Singer, with a portable case and knee treadle. It was my Grandma's and I believe she bought it in 1935 or 1936 to make baby clothes for my Mom when she was born. Haven't used it in years and had forgotten the exact threading. This video is fantastic! What a great help! Thank you!

I have this same machine a coworker gave me from her parents who had to have assisted living. She was in an attic for many years and was a mess. I cleaned her up, took her to a repair shop and works great now. This video helped a lot because I couldn't remember how to thread the bobbin. I would so rather have a vintage machine over a new one any day. They don't make them like this anymore. Thanks for your help.

I used to have one of these mounted on a box. My mother gave it to me, she used it when she was young and I used it for years sewing cloths for my kids. I would put it on a card table or TV tray to sew. My kids knocked it over one day and bent the main shaft which made it unrepairable. This past weekend I found one enclosed in a small fold out table like yours. It looks pristine! I’m so excited to have another one. Thanks for reminding me how to thread it. I’m in my 60s now and will cherish it and pass it on.

Very clear Liked the various angle shots! I started sewing with my first Singer 66 in 1974. Great for Frostline kits. Backpacks jackets and tents. I just acquired my second Singer 66 last week I rescued it from a neighbor who set it out in the alley for trash

I'm fixing up a 66 crank, thistle decal Singer for my granddaughter, and your video is so clear and well-done that I'm sure she'll be able to thread it. She uses my computerized machines with speed control and push-button start and stop, doesn't quite manage the pedal (she's 7). She will be able to use this video to thread up her 66 with no problem with you very clear and to-the point video. THANK YOU!

Oh wow! I am so glad I found you! We just put my grandmother's Model 66 in service, and your videos are so clear! My 8 year old daughter and I are learning to sew together and we are have started by using her grandmother's much more modern Singer 6136. But this old machine is so beautiful. . .anyway. Do the current Singer needles work for the Model 66. It is skipping stitches, and it seems likely that the needle is dull. Thank you!

Can you do a tension tutorial/troubleshooting the stitch? My bobbin thread bunches, sometimes my top thread breaks off. I know you aren’t supposed to touch the bobbin tension, but I have to adjust my tension pretty high, and still not thrilled with the stitch. Just having bad luck in that regard with my 66.
