They still have the underlying MV storyline that started with Hellevator and has continued all the way through. But yes, there are eras among the albums. Each era is a trilogy of albums that kind of covers an intro, midpoint, and conclusion of a theme within their overall concept of self-discovery and growth. MANIAC is the first album in the newest era trilogy, so the album that's scheduled to release this autumn will be the second and should somehow progress the "embrace your differences; the journey might beat you down, but you can keep going; be true to yourself even when it hurts" theme started by MANIAC, and the trilogy should conclude with a third album sometime in 2023.

The title tracks are connected somewhat, so the similarity is deliberate. Their purpose is to garner attention for the overall album, and 3RACHA know what sound profiles will do that. As for the video similarities in the title track MVs: same thing. God's Menu, Back Door, Thunderous, Maniac -- they all very purposely have the same director and team. The title track MVs are doing the same job as the title tracks themselves: providing an easily identifiable, cohesive impression to draw casual and new people in and get them to engage with the rest of the music. Once people are invested, they're here and can discover the dizzying breadth of SKZ's discography -- but they have to get hooked and pulled in first. Hence: the title tracks and title track MVs. 3RACHA use more than just lyrics to support their themes, and the construction of Maniac is a good example. The idea of Maniac is that everyone's wearing a mainstream, acceptable, pleasant-but-not-unique facade to blend in, but that inside we're concealing our true, shocking, unique selves. And that's exactly how the music and MV are constructed -- everyday people (cafe workers, subway riders, random kids) during the pleasantly but not distinctly remarkable verse...and then leather-clad, bedazzled badasses in the startling, unique chorus. Basically, the "I've kinda heard this from them before" feeling you were remarking on during the verse is deliberate. 😀
