Haley Reinhart is by far the best vocalist to have ever performed with PMJ. In fact, she is the best thing that ever happened to Scott Bradlee and his PMJ. As prior to the arrival of Haley Reinhart on the scene, all PMJ ever played was cheap dives and tiny venues. Then shortly after the arrival of Haley Reinhart and after she quickly recorded several music videos that all went viral, all of a sudden PMJ found themselves playing coliseums and arenas. If you loved Haley's "Seven Nation Army" music video, you will love Haley's cover of "Creep". As it not only stayed on the Billboard Digital Jazz Chart for 58 straight weeks, but it is the first and only music video on the PMJ KZfaq Channel that has surpassed over 100 million views. Other great music videos by Haley Reinhart you should react to are "Oops, I Did It Again", "Don't Speak", and "Habits". The mute or cone is used on trumpets and trombones to modify the tone.

That trumpeter is Mike Rocha. He plays a big bell trumpet and is an amazing player as well as being a very down to earth guy. Along with being a regular player around LA, he also teaches and was our son's band leader in the San Jacinto Jazz Band. Our boy loved learning under him, and had the opportunity to play at the Oceanside Jazz Festival and another performance with Arturo Sandoval, a grammy and emmy award winning trumpeter. The clarinet player is Jacob Scesney. He is a learned sax player that trained under a gent at Idyllwild School of Arts named Paul Carmen. Paul is the former sax player for Frank Zappa. He toured with him for over 10 years, making a half dozen albums. Paul was our son's sax teacher at the time Mike Rocha was his band leader. Our son is still friends with both of them on facebook to this day. Both gents often do studio work with some very big names. It's been a fun ride!

The instruments behind the bandstands were a clarinet on the left, a muted trumpet in the center and a trombone on the right. The trombone was muted, not with a normal mute, but with a bathroom plunger. It is a style made famous in New Orleans.

Haley is an astounding and super talented artist! She was a finalist on American Idol years ago. She’s done a few with PMJ! Love her style and the things she does with her voice and the control she has is amazing!

She's such a self aware performer. It's lovely to hear a younger man having such a beautifully aware reaction to a woman. Work on your instrument recognition, but great instincts.
