This transition is the hinge of the song, the album and - who knows - of Ms Eilish's journey as an artist. There was a before - and there will be an after. The change from 4/4 to 6/8 has never been so effective or meaningful. The song is an absolute masterpiece.

Then repeat at least twice more ;) Barely 2 minutes in, she tells us it wasn't her choice to be abused, before abruptly ending the opener with ...
