4 жыл бұрынI met these two Indian aunties scamming foreigners at India Gate by asking for a donation to a charity that doesn't exist. The scammer even showed me a stolen ID card that I called to verify her identity. I watched on as Indians from outside Delhi and Foreigners were approached by these two scammers donation collectors.
Giving money to charities on the street in India is extremely risky. You don't know if their identification is real or not. The best way to donate in India is via official websites of reputable charities. Please don't trust street collectors in India - it's a very common scam.

Such a coincidence you expose these scams today. It's only been a week I arrived in Delhi, so am still exploring the state. I went to New Delhi yesterday, after I came out from the metro station, a lady greeted me, pinned the Indian flag and asked me for ₹200. Since am not good in Hindi, I could not understand what she said but I remember her mentioning "orphan". I offered to give ₹10 but she insist on ₹200. Then, an old guy came to us, scolded the woman and told me not to believe whatever this kinds of people are saying. You're doing a great work, bro. Always been a fan of your work! Karl Rock rocks 😉

True. I really don't mind helping other however I can as long as it's for an authentic cause. I've never experienced it before but yesterday's encounter was an eye opener. I've also noticed these scammers target both foreigners and people from NE states. I am a North Eastern myself 🙂

I remember when i was a kid one of those old ladies went around the mall giving everyone a rose with a smalll card that read im a mute and need help for school. take this you need to give me a donation. She gave it to me and i was like hey thanks! And walked away. You would be surprised when the mute lady started talking lol..

Hey Karl, i see your videos regularly, I'm German & english speaking tour guide from Rajasthan, but I work in whole north india, since 2010, i have been seeing , these 2 ladies since then,many a times tour guides also complained these ladies to tourist police (mostly tourist police jeep is always roaming at india gate), but nothing happened , tourist police know them very well, it might be possibility, that they are also getting their share from them, mostly tour guides, whenever they go to india gate , they always inform their clients or groups, before they reach there(generally we tell them, not to speak these 2 ladies & just ignore them & move ahead).

Use only prepaid cab, Ola and Uber for transportation while travelling here. Dont take auto rickshaw.

Use OLA, UBER APPS FOR TRANSPORTATION THEY ARE WAY CHEAPER AND YOU CAN AVOID SCAMS DONT BUY ELECTRONICS ON SMALL SHOPS BECAUSE THEY SELL YOU FAKE PRODUCTS HAVE A NICE STAY IN INDIA
