Hello Victoria! I just wanted let you know I took your class a few times years ago at the adult school in our area. I really enjoyed your teaching and knowledge it helped me tremendously in furthering my singing/musical journey. I'm always looking to improve my skills. I also had a setback... So a few weeks ago I happened to come across your channel and saw a familiar face. I was so shocked and pleasantly surprised to find you here on KZfaq. I never had the chance to tell you or thank you and let you know what an impact you made on my musical/singing journey. I was rather shy and hadn't quit found my voice back then. Fast forward today . I still have a love and passion for singing I frequent karaoke bars and open mic nights in our area . I was looking forward to finally getting out of my comfort zone and start playing/guitar, joining a duo and going solo. But unfortunately I had a set back due to Covid . It has impacted my singing abilities tremendously. Not to mention my confidence and morale as well. My range and ability to sing without losing my breath have been impacted. It's been well over a year and half and I'm definitely not anywhere I was prior to illness vocally. Any suggestions or tips or a video on how to get my voice back or exercises I can use to help with this. Again so happy you're on KZfaq. No way is anyone too old to sing. Generations on my father's side of the family have loved singing, especially jazz, and enjoyed it through old age. My father when he was in his 80s had a long news segment done about him in the major city where he lived where he was known as the "karaoke king" for his weekly performances of jazz standards..He was a character to be sure. Even in his late 80s he could still kill it in his performance of "New York, New York." Very different personality than me and a real ham with quite a stage presence. I've always preferred singing on my own or in the past with good friends. But I do share the love he had of jazz standards, even when I was a kid, along with other things. His brother also enjoyed singing into his 80s and it was a great outlet and a big part of his social life with friends.

hi i have a problem with the vowel O when belting out how do i get it to sound more round darker ??

I don't even know how to ask my question so I thought might just leave the question under a singing lesson. I translate songs and try to sing them, i change the lyrics until i find the best lyrics that fit the original song, it's really hard and i'm not satisfied with the outcome, i want to know if there is a way to describe my problem, like i feel that i'm off key, i'm not an expert, i learn alone online, i don't take lessons too
