I sung this in chior today for karaoke Friday, first time participating in the singing part I was so nervous but after I felt so amazing, I got compliments and I think I've learned that I love myself, and that I can be confident with a microphone in my hand. This week has taken lots of courage, and I made it through, I am so proud of myself for the first time in ages!

I used to be a waitress. The diner I worked at was attached to a bar, and every Thursday we would have karaoke! I used to be a choir kid and when this song came out, it meant so much to me personally, so one night I put my name in, and went up to sing this song. I felt every single word, and I sang better than I ever had. My voice didn't even sound like mine. When the song ended, my last words echoed out, and the bar was quiet. Like, holding your breath quiet. The karaoke host grabbed the mic and said, "Wow...". And then I got the best standing ovation I'd ever had!! I remember one lady came up and said she'd recorded it, and still to this day I wish I would have asked for her name or how to get ahold of it, because of all my performances ever, this was the only one that left a whole crowd speechless :)
