I assume the prosses would be the same if you wanted to do a progression of say going from 1,2,3,4, etc. of the blue at the same time as a regression of the black. so you would eventually change over to a blue primary with the black in regression. I hope I made my self-clear.

Another great video! I save these to my hard drive then I can slow them down if needed to see the detail better. I just got the small CRB CORE rod wrapper and it seems I've been using it backwards with the spool up front. Was annoying me that I couldn't see the tension rod as I wound the thread but now I now why. Do you deliberately have you tension high enough that you have to release the tension by turning the spool every so often and should I be aiming for a tighter wrap? I did a nice sawblade wrap on a practise piece of junk rod late last night only to have the pull through at the end fail and it unwound all over the place. Oh well, tonight I'm going to try a fade wrap with a sawblade wrap just above that to possibly put on my new rod starting from the silver winding check to a hook keeper then maybe a half sawblade on the other side of the keeper for a finish. Just waiting for my 14 spool order of threads to arrive by Friday I hope.

I like to have my tension right tighter when I’m doing inlays and stuff, and then loser when I do long continuous wraps. Thanks again for watching Bill.

I have a quick question. Can you marble a section of a rod that has thread finish already on it? Thread finish is already cured.
@reelbluecustomrods
@reelbluecustomrods 2 жыл бұрын
Of course. Depending on what type/color of pigment you use, you may not be able to see the threads below it. But that’s ok if that is what you are going for.

I believe it was 10 to 1 to start the wrap, and in the middle I just got creative, and then repeated it to finish.
