This is very helpful. My biggest issue with MP is the stress I feel to immediately run to a harvest because I’ve lost three potential diamonds because of host abort. It really affects my normal play. And of course, the troll players.

Multiplayer with a friend or two is my favourite. We’ll sometimes rp a hunting trip where we quad to our spot then hunt around that area.

I don't think you see more animals on multiplayer, I think it's just on multiplayer with so many people killing them that the diamonds gets respawned quicker.

Essentially, if there is no diamond [insert animal] on your map then hopping around multiplayer servers is a good way to see animals you haven't seen before that COULD be diamonds. However it's tough because: 1. You don't really know if these maps have been thoroughly hunted and there are no original spawn diamonds running around. and 2. While multiplayer hunting you are not cycling the population on YOUR map so if the multiplayer hunt fails you wasted any kills on animals whose respawns you'll likely never get to see. I agree with Flinter in the fact that multiplayer is mainly fun just because of the new factor. There will be animals you haven't seen, likely in places you haven't seen them before so there is an excitement about an unexplored map there.

Another thing is as a host, any needs other players find, stay on your map for single player. i highly reccomend hosting matching to get a bunch of need locations without doing it all yourself.

Flinter I got my first diamond and my first 400m shot while listening to this video. It was a blacktail deer at layton lakes, I was at cheelah lake and I sniped him through both lungs!

I'll usually go through my map at first, hunt every species, then whatever I want to get I grind for with the tent tripod setup on every map. Then once I do a run through the grind I'll go to multiplayer for the rest of the time I play. Rn my grind is Gemsbuck, Blackbuck, whitetail, red deer. It's pretty fun

In pc,it's a lot of hackers, but if you play all day and ignore them then you can easily get 5 or more diamonds a day.

I've never understood this obession people have with Diamonds. I like hunting. If i kill it clean i'm happy. For me multiplayer just feels different cause you are not the only person alive in the world. Thats where the difference is for me.

Sometimes your map and re-spawn's just don't want to cooperate. I spent 5 weeks hunting my map at 3 hours a session and changing the times multiple times trying to get a diamond black-tail. I got fed up as it seemed no matter how many I shot I just couldn't get them to up themselves to a diamond. Three days of hunting multiplayer and I finally got the damn thing by server hopping. Could be that diamond black-tail are a lot rarer and harder to get than other species but it got pretty frustrating since the old system as it just seemed impossible on my own map. Good vid dood, just want to say one thing to those hosting a session for random peeps that if you don't care about your need zones, by all means let peeps hunt your map, but if you do and want to keep them, I wouldn't host as most peeps just blast everything in that area and delete the zone.

If you play on pc reset the animal population, i had the same issue when i was grinding for a diamond red deer and never had one respawn for so long but i decided to re set and found one the following day.

I joined Yukon valley for the first time the other night right after buying it, and first animal i killed was a diamond bear! The night before i killed my first diamond which was a Cape buffalo , all on multiplayer

There is a bug if you kill an animal and place a tent or any placeble structure in multiplayer you steal that players entire animal population completely overwriting your populations in other words someone can have a diamond in there map you kill a random animal place a tent and boom it's now on your map along with everything else including there zones

Ive had the game since not long after it was released and I’ve never seen a. Diamond I’ve currently grinded gemsbok for the past 3ish months I’ve easily shot 3-400 and still can’t get one and the same for blacktail

I have 2 questions after my response. First thank you for explaining the benefits and disadvantages of multiplayer and a little better on how re-spawns work to your benefit. You actually did well to explain it to someone who understands numbers. I am also learning programming so I get it a bit. Basically by increasing the number of animals you see the better the odds that one or more of them will have covid... i mean be Diamond lol The animals on your map are randomly generated or pre-set when the map is loaded the first time. They stay the same until they are re-spawned. When you host multiplayer you are letting other people come onto your map so they hunt and then re-spawn your animals. Same if you go to other people's maps. you are hunting and forcing re-spawns on their maps. so I need to host level 1 hunts on all of my maps to get a shitload of re-spawns lol. first question, How do you tell an animal is diamond? As a relatively new player I see videos of people just spotting and instantly saying "thats a diamond." I can see trophy number ranges, I can see difficulty numbers but still I cant figure out how to put these together to get what rating. second question... I forgot, so I will get on the discord and ask

Im glad you made this video i always tried telling people that opening your map to multiplayer doesn't increase diamond spawn but i kinda disagree with opening your map to multiplayer if your a new player odds are if your new you got a diamond or rare on your map already thats how i got my diamond albino elk was on a noobs map now he will never get a chance at it

It'll be really interesting if no one understands what you're saying cause you made it pretty clear and it's not a hard concept to grasp. It's like this: You can gamble 5 times once on one machine a day. The odds of hitting jackpot are low. But if you gamble 5 times on all 5 machines, you are running 25 chances of hitting Jackpot. The jackpot odds never change, you're just allowing yourself more chances of hitting it by running those odds more. It's like that for scanning multiplayer servers for diamonds. :p Granted in multiplayer you do have competition and you have no clue if someone just swooped a diamond before you.

A huge disadvantage to MP is no missions or side missions can be done. MP has been the only way I can verify Boars have ever stepped into the 'Bohndorf lake' subregion at all.

isaccc000 kill males, discover as many need zones as possible and don’t build up to much hunting pressure. Go hunting for all types of animals coming back to all need zones when it’s time too check what has spawned back typical within 3 in game days so change time often until one appears. RAR

isaccc000 plus if you find a diamond in a need zone and it notices you and runs just change the time to next day on the need zone time that It was eating/drinking from, it will go back to that exact need zone.

for me hosting multiplayer is the best, I usually only can put a few hours a week into the game so if someone gets a diamond on my map then good for them, I probably wasn't going to find that one anyways lmao. Also as host anytime someone finds a need zone they stick around for everyone to use, like anytime I want to hunt a specific animal in an area I don't normally hunt in, theres already plenty of need zones to work off of

It’s for sure 6 “in game” days. But I’m on a whitetail grind for the great one and I get on about the same time everyday after work. I’ve noticed my whitetails have all respawned when I get on. It could be a coincidence and just be I’ve reset the “in game” time enough that they respawn without realizing it’s been 6 “in game” days. Because I do rotate around the map to all my drink zones and never start the hunt where I ended it the night before. I play on console btw.

Its no set time. If tried it. Go somewhere else on the map , make hunting pressure to remove the one you shot that you want to respawn. It should respawn. If not, keep hunting other things or checkmother zones.

I played this game easily for a solid year and never saw a single diamond. I was careful to use appropriate weapons for each species and went for vitals.. I covered all the basics. However, I am clearly doing something fundamentally wrong. How important is it to hunt a species in their zones at the given times? Are diamonds more likely to come out then?

Can you have your map griefed by going online? If someone shoots a diamond ... say pig, will that diamond pig be gone on singleplayer too? And also, can they grief you by hunting a needzone so much that it gets moved?

A thousand animals? I'm lucky to see a few animals on the whole map after several hours of sneaking around and using every stealthy trick possible. Including using timed rest points etc. This game seriously needs an animal population upgrade.

we already know they respawn in same weight class though. if you shoot 200 bucks chances are a percentage of those were max estimate and they are the ones that respawn as diamond. I ONLY shoot max estimate bucks and that's how I get diamond whitetail

I would have to say i think multiplayer does slightly increase your chances of diamonds. just because more people kill more animals which cause more animals to randomly spawn. you cant kill the amount of animals a multiplayer map will end up with.

I have said this before and i will say it again. A few months ago I saw a level 5 male beige gemsbok at my map, but I couldn’t find him. A few days ago I was at multiplayer and found one, but he didn’t make diamond. Then the next day I found a dark level 5 male that didn’t make diamond either. I have gotten probably 6 male level 5’s now and none has made diamond. My dream animal to get is and beige diamond male ski got continue the grind I guess. Kinda sad that they make diamond as rare as they do :/

Diamond females are more common. It’s a good thing that male diamonds are rare, because if they were too common, gemsbok diamonds would be literally everywhere

As much as I'd like to play MP, I won't and can't. First, I don't have friends. Secondly, I've heard enough bad stories of MP players being jerks and kicking people out. Lastly, I have mods in my game, I can take them out for MP but the game is almost unplayable without them. If I had a friend to play with, I'd drop my mods for them for that session. Oh well, SP for life I suppose.

Question. How many diamonds can you have at the same time. Silly example but can all your animals on your map be diamonds if you only shoot the non diamonds?

I have never played multiplayer. Usually people who mention it have a console and I’m on pc. I understand you can’t cross platform. Maybe it will be available soon?!?!? We hope?

If im hosting multiplayer with the boys and they shoot a real nice rare fallow, but don't kill it could I come to single player could I run into the same animal days later still wounded and would it hurt my score?

Anyone? Im new to this and hunting lol so I was wondering once you get a kill and view the stats, what does “Tax/harvest/accept mean? Lol sorry if it’s a stupid question but it’s a real question for me haha

I personally love hosting multiplayer games for the simple fact of respawns I host for like 3 or 4 sessions then I'll play single player and 75% of the time I get a diamond or a really nice rare

Liked. Already subbed. Question: I read in a steam discussion that if you join a server you'll become the host if the others that were on before you leave. True? So far that's fine. No problem. But then, any hunting pressure created, by anyone, becomes a part of your single player map. True? If so, that's something that aught to be mentioned as a BIG con about mp. Either way I'm surprised, and disappointed, that there isn't a way to create a dedicated mp server. It would be great to be able to join one that that resets by a host created timer or when x number of hunting pressure areas are reached.

A dedicated multiplayer server would be really cool. There’s a massive issue with modding in the community at the moment though and getting around that would be a big hurdle. I think there was a time that hunting pressure did transfer to your map, but I’m pretty much certain it no longer does :) hope this helps!

Well.... I disagree a little bit with the first one because I get alot of diamonds I'm going after in multiplayer, but grinding for rares in sp is what I do for specific animals

Hi Flinter , from my map i strong disagree with animals re-spaning, my maps and all my maps have many many times less animals in them now than when started on the maps ,no re-spawning , i dont see that animal back in or any where near the spot its shot from that zone ! , , i can go down the whole one side of Laton lakes map and only see 6 animals dont matter if it morning , arvo ,evening, the maps are now dead !! and cant get any explanation from any one , i see on the forum that others are having the same issue ,its now happening on Sliver map already , and i dont shot 5 or 10 animals in one spot only 2 or 3 max , any thoughts !! know your away hope you read this ,i do hunt up to 12 hrs a day though most days some time less , the way i get good hunting is to go on multi play new maps and do well and see the difference to my maps ! thanks

I afk on my own map on multiplayer and people shoot EVERYTHING they see and it gets rid of hunting pressure in my favorite spots

I play multiplayer because in single player I can't see footprints and its really annoying

I read somewhere that if people over hunt an area and destroy the need zones in MP it removes it in Single player.....which sucks. But that begs the question, if they open it in MP does it show up on your SP game? So hosting MP could actually improve your map.

Both of those are true. Zones can be discovered by other players in multiplayer as well as deleted with too much hunting pressure. The other nice thing is: any animals shot by you or other players on your map in multiplayer respawn as new animals for your single player

@@Flintergaming That is awesome. I also heard something to the fact that you need to open more need zones to get more animals.....something along those lines. So actually MP is a powerful tool for SP and Diamond hunting.

I have a problem trying to play multiplayer I get disconnected within 5 mins every time I try to join a multi player game and people get disconnected off mine if I try to host one. Any suggestions? Support hasn't been able to help.

So by math if there's 1 in 1000 chance of getting a diamond in your own map .. going on MP you give more chances to the hosts map to get a diamond

It’s annoying trying to play multiplayer on console, I swear every server you join you get kicked before you even get a chance to hunt. Why they even bother playing on multiplayer if there just going to kick you when you join
