I can't say I thought much about them on first viewing but in the book the science of starwars it was brought up that they could have just added a droid brain to the vehicle and the image of that has stayed with me. Think of it could be shielded and carry missiles like a small Vulture Droid the thrust turbines could be jiggered to work underwater etc etc

They look like a combination of the STAP and the police gunships.

They do kind of look like the STAP don't they? I don't think they are connected at all, but they do look like a combo of the Stap and the police gunship! Good call LEGOkingJETTT!

@@hyperspacedatabase yeah the Canto ones look operated by foot pedals, but the STAP more by the handlebar controls? (Maybe a droid is less tactile/gentle with the feet lol?)
