From having so many games against smurfers and account buyers that really test my sanity, i conclude that i too value new player more than anything. I've encountered new player that really try his best but already exposed to dota's toxicity that made him decide to be rude and grief... but if you are patient enough, they'll actually listen to you and apologize. We even played 1 more game where he said he's trying to learn but watching tutorial videos like purge's vids is just too long. So he decided to watch specific heroes games but gets blamed a lot for buying what he was told to buy. He was playing PA while trying to get battlefury in a losing match, he doesn't even know how to split push and farm properly. I'm just sad dude, but teaching him kinda made my day, i hope he gets better. IDK how new player can deal with Dota nowadays, with all the neutral items, skill trees, huge amount of items and meta abusing players. Jesus fkin Christ man!

@@kindle1951 I can tell ya its really frustrating. I remeber that I left League like 1 and half ago. It was so hard to get into Dota, but thank god I had a lot of experience with Dota 1 which we played with friend at boarding house after wifi shuts down, and also I used to play Warcraft 3 when I was a kid. But it was still so hard, when everybody is playing Dota for like 5 years, its really hard to get into and I considered to leave but I endured. After that small amount of time(1.5 year) I reached 4k and I have 900 hours in Dota, so I consider myself as average experienced Dota player, but hell, the new players have it harder and harder every patch. Its not Valve problem, they have enough tutorials in game but there are no big content creators to learn from. All you can see are League of Skins videos and Dota is the less popular and really closed community that wants nobody to get in.
@kindle1951

@@pegres5339 Progressions to make the game fresh and still enjoyable has its cost, for example making and changing mechanics every big patches will change the meta and how the game works. This makes content creators to lose their mind because their guides will be so outdated and face the consequences of re-doing them, making new players confused. It's hard to say if it's not Valve's problem since they are the one that shaped the game the way it is. This leads me to believe that Valve's should cater more towards new players rather the than people complaining about "dead game", why? Because having more players surely would fix not only the matchmaking issues but also make the MMR system more '"diverse" due to the *influx of new players,* so they won't have to face a lot of smurfs and can enjoy the game bit by bit versus players with the same skill level. I think this would fix the MMR ladders making it easier to climb cause' the skill level gap wont be as high or far apart.

singsing is a great human being if i'm perfectly honest a ton of people in his situation wouldn't take this seriously and just insta-ban or make fun of everything. sing is making an in-depth analysis of the player skill and taking his chance to make it somewhat of a learning experience. gotta love this man

While you are not wrong with your statement about sing, if you just insta condemn everybody to be guilty and there are others on this case who, like sing, do this responsibly and don't find him guilty, you lose your right to review these cases. I seldom play Dota 2 only with the AIs because my internet at home is so awful I can't play online properly. Barely any matches on my account, so still unranked. One time I tried playing online once when I was in campus (good internet), and got matched with what I think are long time players (I saw they were not anywhere near a 'newbie'). Obviously since playing with AI is too much different, I got confused at what to do several times. Teammates kept flaming. Thankfully 1 of them was nice to me. After that game I honestly thought I wouldn't enjoy playing more. I think the matchmaking plays a big part in repelling new players

And the best part of all: Valve thought this match required a human reviewer to decide if a ban was needed. Imagine implementing a review system when you still don't even have a proper matchmaking one. Good job Gaben, at this pace in around 10 years you will be able to tell if a player is new or not. This reminds me of that one guy I played with who had like 5+ years of experience at the time and was 400 MMR. I thought he was just a troll, but playing with him he was actually just that fucking bad.

I come across them often in Overwatch Ranked... Dude brags about how he has been playing since season X and that he is better than me (same team btw) and my response is always "And look at you now, you're in the same team as me who started the other day". Always seems to shut them up...

Valve should add a counter-charge for the judge. That NP is toxic and prolly saying shit on SD while pinging him. SD is obviously a new player and I hope Valve also add a DOTA PLUS SHARD GIFT for those proven not guilty

My cousin 12 Yo told me to teach him to play dota after seeing me playing, he coms from LoL, he loved dota and now hes playing for 2 weeks and he has been in Low priority more times that me in my whole time playing dota that is like 6 years or something, i taught him some basic stuff and learned a lot, but i hate how the matchmaking sistem works beacausa i saw people smurfing, boosting, people that have more than 5 hundred games and i my cousing gets discouraged been in low priority because he likes to play the heroes that he enjoys, they really have to fix that problem for new players

I started 2 years ago 700 mmr and being new just isnt an excuse. If you dont know your hero, cant use tps, cant use spells you shouldnt play online. I played my first 200 games with bots. I still remember thinking unfairs bots are impossible to beat. He should play with bots to until he wins one game at least.

Everyone out here feeling bad for the new player but im more upset at Valve. What happened to the mandatory bot games? Why is matchmaking so bad and where are the tools to help new players? When I started playing League after stopping Dota, i was forced to play against bots with other new players or smurfs, i didnt have a choice and it helped. No one got upset and the smurfs actually gave advice since i was new. Valve have to realize that people are assholes and as long as they are playing against other people, they will continue to be assholes. And they wonder why Dota is dying smh...

I only got 500 games or so and still a noob. Just wondering why Zeus, despite being killed by DS solely, is also terrible? Is it because of the standing position on the lane or something? Because I think I may be playing in the silimar way as him(or maybe better than him, I don't know)
