From 2008 to 2024, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has evolved leaps and bounds. Over the years it has become a well-oiled machinery that functions round the clock. The sophistication has brought more professionalism and corporate culture to IPL franchises. The business precedes the sport. Some of the IPL owners now own a team in various T20 leagues around the world and it has become one large ecosystem. The management has the last word, not the coaching staff in some on-field decision making. The game has become more ruthless. As a player, you sink or swim. Aditya Joshi, freelance journalist Rujuta Luktuke and The Hindu’s sports journalist Amol Karhadkar take a deep dive into the corporate world of IPL in this special episode…
IPLला सुरुवात झाली २००८ साली आणि तेव्हापासून आजतागायत IPLचा चेहरामोहरा पूर्णतः बदलला आहे. IPL हि केवळ दोन महिन्यांची सर्कस उरलेली नाही. IPL मधले संघ आता कुठल्या ना कुठल्या कारणाने वर्षभर कार्यरत असतात. त्यामुळे एकंदरीतच व्यावसायिकता आणि गोष्टींकडे बघण्याचा दृष्टिकोन बदलला आहे. खेळापेक्षा धंदा महत्त्वाचा, इतकं साधं गणित आहे. IPLमधल्या अनेक संघांच्या मालकीचे संघ आता जगातल्या वेगवेगळ्या T२० स्पर्धांमध्ये आहेत. त्यामुळे ह्या सगळ्याची एकत्रित मोट बांधणं क्रमप्राप्त झालं आहे. संघमालकांच्या शब्दाबाहेर संघाचा प्रशिक्षक जाऊ शकत नाही. त्यामुळे खेळाडूंना कामगिरी केली नाही तर सरळ संघातून बाहेरचा रस्ता दाखवला जातो. भावनेपेक्षा कामगिरीला महत्त्व अधिक दिलं जातं इतकं IPL आता निष्ठूर झालं आहे हे वास्तव आहे. आदित्य जोशी, मुक्त पत्रकार ऋजुता लुकतुके आणि द हिंदूचा क्रीडा पत्रकार अमोल कऱ्हाडकर ह्यांनी ह्या परिस्थितीवर परखड भाष्य केलं आहे ह्या IPL विशेष भागात...

व्हिडीओ छान आहे, माहिती देखील खूप चांगली दिलीत तुम्ही फक्त व्हिडीओ एडिटिंगवर कृपया थोडं काम करा, बॅग्राउंड व्हाईज खूप जास्त येतो त्यामुळे तुम्ही काय बोलता ते नीट कळत नाही.
