Review Of My oil filled Sinn UX GSG9
Perfect legibility even under the most adverse of conditions, the largest dial possible, and a bezel that won’t come off or pitch to one side: these are challenges that Sinn’s engineers have fulfilled with Model UX.
The case filled with a special oil makes the watch legible from every angle, even under water. This oil filling keeps the case water-resistant to any reachable diving depth.
The temperature-stabilised high-precision movement is powered by a lithium battery, which not only has an exceptionally long life, but can also supply electricity at minus temperatures of up to -25° Celsius.

That watch is phenomenal! I've started serious training to get back into GSG9-shape :D When I get down to 85 kilos hard'n swole from now 98, I drive to Frankfurt and buy that watch. In spring I go running with bare upper body wearing only this watch. Guys, set goals, envision them, and reward yourself when mission is accomplished. STAY HARD !

I bought mine yesterday when I dropped my EZM 1 off for service. It hadn't been serviced in 13 years! Not my fault, I bought it used 4 years ago. We live in Leipzig, so we aren't that far away. I'll have to ask about their tour. I bought the black dial, bracelet and it's tegimented. Love the watch, great review. I'm on the hunt for the original that was with the GSG 9. Service now is 550 euro and if you have AR it goes to 605 euro.

Great quartz watch, the accuracy reminds me of Bulovas 262KHz quartz, +/-10sec/year. My Lunar Pilot is the most accurate quartz watch I’ve ever owned. But to be honest I’d love a great lifelong in-house automatic (from ground- up, no ETA base), at least COSC grade, in a diver or chronograph. The list of candidates is shrinking...
@ClickSpringReview
@ClickSpringReview 3 жыл бұрын
You have me thinking now which watches I with a full in-house most are ETA or Lemania , But I do have Rolex Sub's and SD's and Seiko MM300 and some cheaper seiko's ,
@Pulsonar
@Pulsonar 3 жыл бұрын
@@ClickSpringReview I’m only recently learning that ‘in-house’ is sometimes used as a clever marketing ploy to play on the vulnerabilities of Swiss watch enthusiasts. Maybe I am in that category, and have to learn good judgement and common sense to disseminate what qualifies as truly in-house and what does not. I guess if you have at least a Rolex 3135 movement amongst your collection that qualifies as an in-house Swiss movement IMO. Probably Seiko too funnily enough...
@ClickSpringReview
@ClickSpringReview 3 жыл бұрын
@@Pulsonar I do also like the ETA7750 Chrono movement as it pretty bombproof and has its signature rotor noise, ETA I think make some great movements, I believe to much is put into having an in-house movement after all look at Omega in house Co axle movement complication it’s great but had nothing to do with them it was George Daniels who sold them it , so wasn’t really there idea they just paid for the rates to say it’s in house :)
@Pulsonar
@Pulsonar 3 жыл бұрын
@@ClickSpringReview Yes, I believe Daniels took many years of toil to develop the Co-axial escapement by ‘74 and patented by ‘80 and no Swiss watchmaker wanted anything to do with it until Omega took up the patent and only then hacked it together with an ETA base to come up with the calibre 2250 in ‘99 which superseded the calibre 1120. another ETA base, but with Swiss lever escapement. I believe Omega finally have a true in-house calibre with the Co-axial based 9300 movement, but it’s taken a couple of iterations and nearly €100M to get there. I have an ETA based Carrera chrono by TAG Heuer and to be honest it’s given 9 years of faultless operation. It’s a Calibre 17 by TAG Heuer nomenclature, not in-house by regular definition, but as its under the Swatch umbrella who also own movement makers ETA it could be construed as in-house from that perspective. It’s all a bit blurry with these conglomerates in the way. ...The journey of a novice continues...

Would you recommend this model (Sinn UX) or the new Hydro U50? I think I’ve narrowed it down to those 2 and normally I would pick the smaller case size 41mm U50 over the 44mm of the UX everyday without question as I’ve noticed over the years I prefer 40-41mm watches. @@ClickSpringReview the bubble issue is only thing holding me back, I've been thinking all night and the oil is a binding issue to the company and even a decade later I'd the oil couldn't be done the watch would be rendered useless the special forces do not expect to have the watch as long as you and I would wish to keep it which is literally forever I then the cost of the Watch would be really significant due to the having to post it off the service in all the time I think the decision is to just go with a mechanical movement or a watch without oil so that servicing your watch is limited to the capsule at most being the expensive issue. I really gave the Watch very serious consideration again for the second time I'm being prepared to go to such a high-end cosc quartz movement even though the truth is I want mechanical it's nearly tempted me again to go back to quartz.... Am just fearful that the watch is high maintenance and although you've had a great experience that's not everyone's that I've read being the same.... I shall put it on a wish list.... @@temujinadonijah6365 I also have a MarineMaster 300 the new SLA023 model it a good watch but will need servicing every 10 years or so as do most auto watches and will cost around double the price of the Sinn UX, The G-shock you have is bomb proof that's for sure I'm not sure about there resale value , My favourite watch at the min for the price has to be my Seiko Great Blue Hole SPB083 / SBDC065 AKA MM200, in the UK it can be picked up new for around £900 and is a stunner I have a review on my channel for the price its hard to beat

I wasn't that keen but recently I've bought some high quality quartz watches (Bulova Lunar Pilot and two Seiko Solars) and now I'm a convert. The accuracy is a delight and the fact it's still running when you pick it up out of your collection... As long as the second hand hits the markers it's good!

It's a toolwatch, it's a function over form type of thing. Quartz is simply more accurate and reliable. The downside being the battery change, but then again, a mechanical watch should be serviced within the same timeframe if you wish to keep it in good condition.
