My friend and I traveled from Canada to NY, and we went to Ms Lea's concert. After her concert. We were outside and ask her politely if we can have a picture with her. She said yes, we didn't invade her privacy. The keys here are Respect and follow the rules.

Simple Fact. The location is inside a Dressing Room. It is just but proper for any dressing room to have Privacy regardless of the status of the person using it. RESPECT is the KEY WORD. IMO, Name Dropping to exert pressure to another person to give way is BAD. I admire Miss Salonga for knowing her right to Privacy and not giving in to any pressure (Name Dropping). Truly, she is a very Professional Media Artist / Personality. Just my 2 cents.

You have a good conversation regarding this Lea's incident.Dressing Room is a room which actors change clothes, prepare before and after performance. So therefore, they should not invade someone's dressing room nor access directly to the room especially you are stranger. Hindi ka kilala tapos diretso sa room. Where's the security or any protections provided for the artist? Mali yung fans talaga. Nakakagulat naman yun para artista. Lea got caught off guard.

Lea is an international celebrity, her fan base is worldwide so she is different from local celebrity. Like she said she have boundaries, meaning, respect her example dressing room.

Obviously, the one who is CORRECT is MS. LEA SALONGA. She wouldn't be in the business for years if it weren't for her professionalism. Obviously, Lea is a classy, professional, straightforward, frank and formidable woman. That's what fans love and adore about her (including me). Personally, I had photos with celebrities but never to the point that I will invade their privacy, their "me time" more so their personal space. Proper etiquette and good manners should be practiced at all times. When taking a photo with a celebrity or artist, there is a designated time and place for this. That is what I admire about Lea. She is a woman who will not mince words and tell straight to your face that you are wrong.

Lea is well-respected and adored globally. She has also spent most of her career outside the Philippines. Yes, Ms. Maglipon has a good point: she could have been more charming. However, it is also true, just like what one said here, that is "not" her personality. In fairness to her, she was firm but still considerate in speaking to them to get to the right venue for having a photo with her. She cannot also allow this because it will serve as a precedent, resulting in more similar future incidents. I understand entirely, Lea, and I support her for saying that her boundaries must be respected.

I have great respect for Ms. Lea Salonga as an artist. It is undeniable that she is at the top of her field because of her talent. I support what she did to inform her "fans" to observe the proper protocol while in the premises of the theater. However, in my humble opinion, she could have expressed her concern in a "friendlier" tone of voice to get her point across.

Anything can be broken? Mataas lang ang ulo ni Lea. They did not go in, they were standing by the door, and they didn’t touch Lea to hurt her anywhere and they didn’t force themselves to get closer to her. Except they kindly begged her to have picture taken. Lea realized later on,she was hard on them, so, she changed her toned of voice and told them where to go and they all listened. She (Lea) Forced herself to have picture taken with them. They were kindly nervous and surprised by how Lea reacted because Lea said they didn’t respect her space. They thought they were given a permission since they waited from the person who asked Lea? They didn’t mean to invade in her privacy. These people knew better not to just go in without a permission. They explained to Lea they only wanted to have picture taken with her. Tapos na! Foreigners or national (means Pilipino born and grew up in the Philippines 🇵🇭) talaga dala-dala ang cultures natin. Mahal talaga ang bayad na mga concerts na mga Pilipino’s Artists performing here abroad. I stop going to see any Pilipino’s concerts here in the States kasi tumatakbo sila sa mga fans para huwag magpapicture taken or signing autographs. Once they performed, they all in a hurry to leave the place. Malungkot man, that is the way, they have been told. Get out as soon as you can, before they catch you! So, sa susunod don’t support any concerts. Just watch sa KZfaq Free pa! Not all performers or celebrities have the same attitudes to accommodate their fans or not fans. Save your money for food. Lea is right. As a performer myself, I don't want to be caught in my underwear or worse without any clothes on while changing in my costume or street clothes after a show. In the mad rush during shows, I cannot always remember to lock my door. It is also impolite to take a video just for content without asking permission from the subject. That crazy fan even admitted that he is not a real fan of Lea but of Sharon. It's already 2023, it's high time we teach the Filipinos and the world how to behave and respect boundaries.

Jo Ann Maglipon - I agree with what you said that Lea could have said it differently. But I really wasn't surprised about her attitude. Not taking the side of the fans - just basing it on how she talks during interviews, the way she answers questions, the words that she uses. I think she is very talented but that's just about it. People should not expect anything from her at all. I think she is arrogant and stern. There is no sweetness and kindness from her. The way she was pointing at the exit is like talking to her maids who are stupid and who couldn't understand what exit means. Have you heard of Keanu Reeves? Tell that fan to take pictures of him. He is the nicest actor here in the US. Very humble and kind despite being a Hollywood superstar. His net worth is $380M. Go figure what I mean.

Leah wasn't rude, she came across very polite but tough in order to make it abundantly clear what the safety protocols in broadway shows ..so let's respect her boundaries... That said, I agree she should have done it with the Pinoy touch...bit of humor and Pinoy sarcasm could have turned the tide ... pero she was caught off guard, her strict disciplined upbringing surfaces... but that was a learning experience for both parties... the fans though disappointed they were must have learned the theater safety protocols after that and Ms Leah must have learned to integrate the Pinoy touch to her disciplined theater life should something unexpected like this happens again in the future... I understand HLL is the first ever all Filipino broadway musical show...as in any shows there will always be bloopers, blunders, etc... I have been to several of Lea's musicals (which are not cheap) in NY, and she was so gracious to sign, have a selfie, and chat with the fans after the performance.
