(no grammar used) i used to be with a guy that had depression before i met him i used to be so happy with myself and so confident and i still was for the beginning of our relationship but then all the time we started to spend together was talking about his depression so much so that he didn't even know when my birthday was because that was all we ever talked about I tried my best to be as happy as i could be and always looked on the bright side of things and tried to help him in the ways i knew that i could I tried so hard to make him happy that my own feelings started to get neglected and soon my confidence and everything just started to disappear I started to hate myself not shower or clean my room or socialize with my family and distanced my self from friends at that point nothing mattered to me anymore the only thing i cared about was him i would make myself stay up all night just so i would be awake to say good morning to him i barely ever got any rest i was at my lowest point I didn't want to tell him because i didn't want to add more onto his plate and knowing him he would start blaming himself I thought i would be strong enough to hold us both up this went on for 3 years and i never told him or anybody about this, this has been my biggest secret for 5 years now which was also another reason why it was so hard because i had nobody to turn to since i had pushed all my friends away and not being allowed to date so i couldn't tell my family especially since at the time the relationship with my family was really bad i remember my mom and me in the car driving to the store and my eyes were so swollen from crying and my hair was all dirty and tangled and i had been in the same clothes for a week and my mom was yelling at me asking why i was this way and i just remember my whole body being so sore that i couldn't even move my lips to speak i could barely even see out of my eyes since they were so puffy all i wanted to do at that moment was just to die I wanted to give up everything just seemed so pointless and it seemed no matter what i did i wasn't good enough i could never make him happy not even momentarily when we got home i just remembered crying myself to sleep i didn't feel like talking to him that day the only thing that kept me going was my hopeful thinking i kept telling myself things would get better and they did he later broke up with me because he got bored of me he also just told me that he just didn't love me anymore it didn't hurt as much as i thought it would and from then on i got myself back together it took 2 years to finally be over everything and to be able to laugh without a care in the world I now shower regularly and dress myself up and spend most of my time with family I still struggle with self esteem though and now tend to cry a lot more easily but other than that everything's going pretty well and my relationship with my family is nowhere near as bad as it used to be he still is dealing with severe depression I hope one day he will be able to smile and look forward to waking up the next day anyways yeah i wrote this comment because this song reminded me of this because i used to think my first love would be like in those animes but boy was i wrong
