Infection in the sinuses (sinusitis) causes sinus headaches. In addition, one may feel pressure around the eyes, cheeks and forehead. In this video, Dr Raman Abrol from Abrol ENT Institute and Research Centre discusses sinus headaches and how one can differentiate them from migraines.
What are sinus headaches?
🌷It occurs after an infection in the Sinus.
What is Sinus?
🌷Sinuses are the space between the skull bones of the face.
🌷They are present beneath the eyes, each on both sides of the nose; bones between the eyes have sinuses beneath and back of the brain and are also in the skull bones.
What causes sinus headaches?
🌷Inflammation of the sinuses leads to colds, flu, and allergies.
🌷It further reciprocates the symptoms.
🌷The sinus headache is location specific.
Symptoms of sinus headaches :
🌷One wakes up with a headache in the morning.
🌷History of colds,
🌷Ongoing, or a few weeks before,
🌷Have site-specific headaches with colds.
How to diagnose it?
🌷The patient's nose would have pus discharge with nose tissues red in colour.
🌷Signs of post-nasal drip,
🌷Other symptoms like nose blockage, nasal discharge, and headaches.
🌷Endoscopy or CT-Scan.
How to treat this condition?
🌷Antibiotics,
🌷Decongestants and medicine courses for 5-7 days.
🌷If needed, additional medicine can be added.
🌷Steam increases water intake, hydrates the body,
How does it differ from Migraine?
🌷Headache in the half side of the brain,
🌷Occurs without reason,
🌷Suffer from splitting headaches, vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and eye blurring.
🌷The headaches may radiate towards the neck or to the arm.
🌷They don't complain of headaches daily.
🌷Rather, it is either stress-induced, once a week, or in 15 days.
🌷The diagnosis of migraines is made by X-ray of sinuses and CT-Scan.
How to treat Migraines?
🌷A medicine or group of medicine, if taken for 2-3 months, a medicine or group of medicine may cure the Migraine completely.
🌷Avoid certain foods.

मुझे भी साइनस से संबंधित बहुत ज्यादा प्रॉब्लम थी जो की बहुत पुरानी होने के बाद माइग्रेन की तरफ जा रही थी l पूरा दिन थकान रहना, अनिंद्रा, और छिक्के आना, स्वास लेने मे दिक्कत, नाक ब्लॉक रहती थी बहुत ज्यादा दवाई खाकर बहुत छोड़ दी थी मेरी एक सहेली ने सहारनपुर के डॉक्टर के बारे मे बताया जो की देसी दवाई देते है प्रॉब्लम पुरानी थी लेकिन दो महीने मे ही ज़ड से खत्म हो गयी आज तक भी दोबारा नहीं हुयी l डॉक्टर नम्बर -आठ एक दो छ आठ दो सात आठ तीन सात है

मुझे 7-8 साल से साइनस था मैंने एक वर्ष पहले एक आयुर्वेदिक तेल का उपयोग किया और उसके बाद से मुझे साइनस और नज़ले की समस्या फिर से नहीं हुई। डॉक्टर ने मुझे सर्जरी के लिए सलाह दी, लेकिन यह बिना सर्जरी के भी ठीक हो सकता है।
