My great grandfather worked the flax mills in sion mills. In 1916 He was offered a position in paisley scotland at anchor mills. My parents in the 50s also worked at anchor mills where they met. Interesting history and both beautiful countries

I was recently in Ireland and was at Sion Mills and was shocked to learn that a failed business man was going to be allowed to tear down part of the mill, and install an Anaerobic digestion that will threaten the river which is known for its salmon fishing. He has been allowed by the local building authority to go around every regulation that would have protected the site. Not only that it would take way the only fields the children have played football on for over 100 years.
