This model has been around for a few years now, I’m thinking of buying one but worried that it’ll get updated as soon as I do. Great review, thanks.

I just ordered one myself, and the Pro model on the website now is the latest updated version with the newer, better sensor, which I think, maybe about a year old? I can't remember when it first came out, but, I doubt if they are going to come out with a newer one anytime soon. I certainly understand you being hesitant about it though, I could be wrong lol!

FYI, they are blowing out the Aurora black for $400 for 1 hard case with camera and charger, SD card 2 batteries and a 2nd hard case with 1000 yrd ir illuminator for $400.

When i search with my pvs-14 gen 1, it will glow like a Christmas tree using the ir on the Aurora PRO. great video though

Right On! I wonder if a curved piece of acrylic or something would give a nice full wide view . Have you tried usb for live view yet?Thanks for or All the Info, everything I wanted to know and then some. 👍

There is a new version to permanently mount on your boat similar to a flir system but uses this same cmor sensor i believe....and a fraction of the cost of a flir. Really good system.

How far can you zoom before everything gets pixelated?

I have the lions gear helmet mount. Use with a clone Wilcox g24. Tried it once along with real night vision. It's ok but trying to walk with the viewfinder is nowhere close to real night vision

I think the device is very good for the price and image quality but what concerns me is the refresh images. So slow it is not "real"

Looking at your FJ and accessories, you could totally afford a real pvs 14. I have an aurora and actual nvg and there really is no comparision. The snow makes the aurora perform better because it reflects more light. using the aurora out in areas with no ambient light, it really isn't up to the task. Trust me, i wish this camera was better because nvg are painfully expensive.

@@thegearbunker9842 the aurora does better than the naked eye, and i could see how digital could eclipse intensifier tubes in the future.
