I've always admired Bob Geldof's outspokeness too. He doesn't really mince his words and I love the fact that he truly fights for what he believes in. To me that's an incredibly attractive characteristic.

I once spoke to one of Bob's drivers. He told me that he once shut the rear door of the car on Bob's head. According to this man Bob's reaction was quality and might give folk a little more understanding of this man. I was told that Bob replied to an obvious "sorry, so sorry" with "i don't know who is the fool here...you for hitting my head with the bloody door...OR ME FOR PUTTING MY BLOODY HEAD UNDER IT!". This probably speaks volumes about Bob Geldof's sense of humour and intelligence.

Initially I thought Bob Geldof had some nerve taking Tiger Lily, another man's child ... Micheal's child, a man he disliked, instead of letting the baby go to blood relatives, but now I see it differently. Bob was a bigger man than most; he swallowed his pride, took in this baby and has raised her since the age of four as his very own child. By all accounts she is happy and healthy, and with her sisters ... and loved by Bob. As it's turned out so well, Michael would want it this way.

I saw bob as a guest speaker at a business exhibition in london and he came out and his first words to the audience were 'please ask me some interesting questions as i always get asked the same boring shit'....i love his frankness. There are few very intelligent men who have such big hearts. He recomended a book by a little known author Ha Jung chang 'kicking away the ladder' well worth a read

Geldof actually made sure that the food/supplies reached the people without the usual administrative costs. Get some facts!!!!! To say that that feeding people during the drought in the "80's was worthless is ludicrous. Geldof has money because he is an intelligent business man, this does not mean his good deeds are excluded. Who is your favorite musician/famous person, and what have they done for the planet? What have YOU done to make the world a better place, to criticize someone who has.

@hydfawr Midge Ure actually wrote the song and back in 1984 was far better known than Geldof was. Geldof used him and then elbowed him out of the way. I saw Midge at a technology show at Earls Court in 2000 and he seemed like a very nice guy indeed, the word is modest indeed.

Um, because he is her father! He is her legal father and she is apart of the Geldof family. I think he's a great father though. He even campaigns for the rights of other fathers after seeing what a dad would have to go through when fighting the mother in court for custody of their kids. I wish my dad is like he is, especially when I was growing up because my dad wasn't around. And here you have Geldof, fighting for custody of his kids and even a kid that's not his!

I think Geldof is a talented actor and speaker, and talented at other abilities as well, but I'm not sure of him as a person. I think he may partly be to blame for Michael Hutchence's suicide (which is not to say that Michael's lack of emotional balance wasn't also to blame).
