60 Minutes, the most successful American television broadcast in history, began its 52nd season in September. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 is still a hit in 2020. 60 Minutes makes Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 nearly every week and was the #1 weekly television broadcast three times last season.
The program still averages more than 10 million viewers, more than double the audience of its nearest network news magazine competitor. The average audience for a 60 Minutes broadcast is 150% higher than those of the network morning news programs; the audience dwarfs the number of viewers drawn by the most popular cable news programs.
About a million more people listen to the 60 Minutes radio simulcast in several major cities and on its companion podcast. Tens of thousands each week experience 60 Minutes online. The broadcast’s segments can be watched at 60Minutes.com and on the CBS All Access app. Its webcast, 60MinutesOvertime.com, offers content originally produced for the web, including behind-the-scenes video about the production of 60 Minutes stories and timely archival segments.
60 Minutes has won every major broadcast award. Its 25 Peabody and 150 Emmy awards are the most won by any single news program. It has also won 20 duPont-Columbia University journalism awards. Other distinguished journalism honors won multiple times include the George Polk, RTDNA Edward R. Murrow, Investigative Reporters and Editors, RFK Journalism, Sigma Delta Chi and Gerald Loeb awards.
60 Minutes premiered on CBS September 24, 1968. Bill Owens is the program’s executive producer. The correspondents and contributors of 60 Minutes are Sharyn Alfonsi, Anderson Cooper, John Dickerson, Norah O’Donnell, Scott Pelley, Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and L. Jon Wertheim.

@Stijn van de Ven To say that we shouldn't take measures against the climate warming the globe because a "utopian government planned centralised economy" will then cause the world to starve - is not a strawman?! With your first sentence in mind, it's rather funny you accuse Al Gore of scaremongering. Your argument about the climate warming is due to temperature and not CO2, and if I jump over my hurdles and say "let's go with that for now". How is using less fossil fuel and more solar/wind/water power bad?

Look at the reception he gets from all of the young people at Britain's big music concert when he appears, he is beloved. And now, our beloved Koala is dangerously close to becoming an endangered species due to our horrific fires, logging, and urban development 😢😢 Because of the fabulous work of Sir David, I chose the WWF-Australia to donate to every month ❤️❤️

@@robmanzoni5766 Climate change deniers attempting to discredit Sir David Attenborough by way of fake news. Rob, please wake up. The evidence is overwhelming and, to use one of your sources (the link about the walruses falling off the cliff), this has been responded to already by the makers of the documentary. Polar bears you claim? Show me the polar bears Rob. Show me your proof. All you have offered is fake news in order to suit YOUR narrative which is climate change (man made to more specific) is a conspiracy. Your links are ridiculous and if you had but an ounce of integrity you would know it. I couldn't care any less about the cohorts of like minded misguided individuals that agree with you, no less than I could the armies of indoctrinated Muslims, Christians and other theists that outnumber non believers; it is not a concern due to the simple fact that they do not get taken seriously. You and your climate denying ilk aren't being taken seriously any more than the flat earthers, so you may as well stop wasting your precious time. The movement towards responsibility has taken off with earnest, penetrated the minds of the younger generation and it is inevitable that social attitudes towards saving the planet for the influence of mans destructive nature will prevail. Free yourself from the ridiculous view you and take responsibility.
