I actually like the color palette. It makes him look toxic or poisonous in a way because the colors "don't mix well together" (In my personal opinion they do), which makes sense because he's a snake.

I'm actually starting to think that viv and her team started to hold themselves back with redesigns after Charlie's redesign dropped- Charlie's redesign was the most drastic, and the responses to her design became very mixed. most of the people criticizing her redesign basically wanted aspects of the old design back and didn't really suggest anything new to do with her design. Maybe viv and her team are afraid of that kind of backlash for the other characters and are now just keeping them relatively the same as before, just to appease those specific fans?

With the little information we’ve been given about Sir Pentious my head cannon is that he dresses that way to mimic both Alastor and Vox since he wants to become an overlord himself and he believes by copying them it will earn him respect and make him more, “relatable”. Once he gets over wanting to impress others and be more true to himself I think he would wear something akin to what you designed. Atleast that’s what I think, it may just be wishful thinking though. Regardless, now I want to see your redesign of Sir P drinking some tea, I can respect a man who enjoys a good cup of tea!

Definitely prefer yours, the greens and yellows have him stick out & look like he’s poisonous, compared to all the harsh reds & such with the rest of the Hazbin crew. And how dare they not give him a snoot!? He’s a snek, a danger noodle, forbidden slinky. He needs the snoot and the little :3 otherwise it kinda feels like a 10$ Walmart costume- Also as someone who *adores* steampunk you did so good with it, and I’m really disappointed Viv and her team didn’t do more with it, so much potential. Also you saying it’s a detail artist’s wet dream was really funny 💀 Plus the puffy sleeves, the neck-scarf puffy thing, and the vest with the striped overshirt thing make it really feel like he’s from the late 1800’s

Okay this has to be one of my favorite re-designs. The color scheme. The fact he actually looks Victorian/1800s Era. The puffy sleeves AHHHHH!!!! The frilly tie cravat whatever you called it vampire thing! That and I’m absolutely in love with the steampunk genre. Now he really does look like a ‘sips tea’ villain.

I've always had a weird thing with his pilot design, he didn't look historically accurate or steampunk so when I saw him look the same with goggles that look like they are used for swimming I was disappointed, they could have done so much, and still made it easy to animate but I don't know why they didn't just give him a new outfit? I love your redesign! His lacey collar and puffy sleeves are my favorites! I've always loved yellow being his main color but I do like the green you gave him, Penn is my favorite hazbin character so it disappointed me more when they didn't do anything, and the eye thing annoys me why did you move it if it's still in the same area that space feels a bit empty now for no reason. I had hope for him, I was hoping he was going to be the one that turned it around because viv stated she would "Add more steampunk elements to him" or that he would change at all like a different outfit would have been great! Perhaps cherri will be the one to turn it around. (if she gets revealed I think they are only revealing hotel members so I'm thinking maybe crymini, mimzy, or Baxter is next if my theory is correct )

As a steampunk obsessed person, this re-re design is indeend a wetdream for me.

Honestly I feel that she cares very little about him so she reused those parts from other characters as you mentioned in his original and final design, because he was fan favourite. Your design is intresting take on him and the colours fit him nicely. The best part is his snoot, he deserves it for snoot boops.

I really think they depend way too much on pink, red, and yellow for Hazbien. Incorporating Cooler color pallets like this would definitely make more characters POP when put in with the backgrounds

I'm waiting for Cherri's design to drop because she's personally my favorite side character. But I'm also afraid that they're gonna drop the bomb on her design. If that happens I might just redraw her in my style and how I would have designed her outfit and color pallette. Also Sir P looks fantastic.

Yeah, his original design doesn't really scream "crazy inventor". It doesn't even meekly whisper "crazy inventor." It's the classic suit-and--bowtie affair that almost every Viv's character has going on. There is more to men's fashion than that, Viv! Anyway, love the redesign, the colours, the steam-punky elements, and the glasses look great here and they're adding so much to showing his personality. I don't need him to say he's an inventor, I can tell just by looking at him. And my absolute faves are the sideburns and the python-like :3 snoot. 👌

As somebody who doesn't really know steampunk this is definitely very steampunk and I love it and I ALSO LOVE SNOOT SIR PENTIOUS ( It's also a welcoming surprise thats for sure.) Plus I think the colors look great (although I may be biased because my fav color is saturated yellow) besides I think it pops along side green although maybe that's why I feel like it may be great if the yellow was lighter. Also I am very excited to see the Cherry Bomb redesign (yours of course)

I find it criminal Vivz didn't think to use the steampunk aspect for him, when clearly he is using machinery you would see in that time, and you are proving that argument perfectly. And indeed, for a snake character, he has no snoot??? Unacceptable. I really agree with you on the overlord part. If Sir Pentious wants to come out on top as an overlord, he will not be trying to emulate anyone else’s looks. He will try to stand out from the rest of the red with his beautiful green self. Also, thank god. Your designs are fresh air to me when it comes to Hazbin stuff. I get whiplash whenever I try to see how Vivzie designs them and realise that the final design, save for Charlie, the final designs for most characters have almost NOTHING, almost no actual visible elements from the “references”. Even I could just slap a suit and call it a day if character design was suppose to be that easy. But it’s not. You have to think out of the box and sometimes actually stay true to the references for character designs to be truly unique. Sure, Vivzie was able to get the basics right, by having exaggerated silhouettes to distinguish characters apart. But her touch-ups, are not the best. They look like they are simply designed for existing fans to be able to draw her characters easily. I find it hard to believe it’s because animators said it’s hard to animate the pilot designs. Some of the new designs still make it tricky, if not, even more tricky to be animated, such as having to understand the side profile of Vaggie’s odd hair to animate it in a way that doesn’t look extremely awkward.

When writing stories I tend to do a lot of investigation in let's say, the food the characters ate, general views and what resources were available to them in that time period/country, but never in their clothing. You inspired me to do a much more deep research regarding that aspect, because really, is one of the most important ones, since it's the FIRST thing the viewer will see, thanks for that :)

Oh no, you made him hot. LOLOL. I love your redesigns. The only thing I've noted is that they're all a bit or quite a bit more complex than the show, which means they're generally harder to animate due to colors/small details, but man do I love them anyway. I love the steam punk hate and belt and the clock on the ascot. Much closer to his time period/aesthetic too. I also love that he's green instead of red. EVERYONE is red/pink/black including the Pride circle where they all live and it blends too much.

Now that's a snake villain. The steampunk snake is not something I've seen before. 😁

I like your color choices here as he reminds me of Seviathan von Eldritch, son of the Prince of Envy (Leviathan, the sea serpent) variant for HH, which feels fitting because Sir Pentious obviously is both envious of the statuses that other Overlord sinners' have and a serpent.

I don't usually comment but honestly this redesign is my all-time favourite from the hazbin redesign series! I know you mentioned not liking the color palette but the yellow and green really pop in the context of his environment; also given that he's the type of character to want to stand out and seem dangerous. Although he comes across as less of a cartoon villain, his design still looks fantastic in my eyes. Good work and keep it up!

I also didn’t like that he *never* looks like he was/is a inventor, he looks like a rich dude that may or may not have accidentally died because of a invention failure. I honestly love this design so much more than the original. In fact I thought the original was like a background character and not really like a main character like you know pops up in one episode you don’t see him again. I thought his design was just like not appealing and I couldn’t figure out why but now I know it’s because he’s a snake with no snoot that is a crime. Vivziepop parading the idea she's a professional when her designs utterly suck and show time and time again any claim she's done research is a lie, just hurts to see. I see her making some more bad decisions down the line. I don't mind never seeing the series be finalized. I'm not as huge of a fan as I once was, but if the show MUST go on PLEASE Satan below- Vivzie learn to admit when you out gamed instead of insisting you're something you're not! Im not interested in seeing it fail, but I rather see Vivziepop learn from her mistakes instead of being so bull headed like she's known to be. She has a history of making these mistakes because she so bull headed (like stealing Ocs because she was told she couldn't buy them) and yeah her being stubborn has got her very far, but I feel like with how the industry is like right now... There's a good chance Hazbin will fail, and it wouldn't be her fault or even in her control and she won't learn from it.

I have no idea how every single one of your redesigns are so consistently good but its literally so inspiring like these types of videos really motivate me to get better ar character design because your process is honestly so effective As someone who's favourite hazbin character is sold immediately to Sir pentious this is awesome!!!! He was in desperate need of a snoot and de-alastorisation and this nails that lmao Even though you weren't sure about the colours I still think its a major improvement from the original and suits the fact that he's also not an actual overlord he just really wants to be one, it actually makes more sense for his whole vibe to not quite hit the mark completely dead on and also just looks way better in all honesty like cooler colours in hazbin are always refreshing cause I swear my vision is gonna be permanently tainted red when it actually airs lol I also really like the fact that you changed the eyes on the bottom of his tail and like you said it being hell some people might say it should be painful, and to an extent I would agree but for sir pentious???? Like he's honestly probably one of the most morally sound characters in hazbin so it makes no sense for a design feature like that to be incorporated when other characters like alastor or valentino just get off the hook even though they're far worse in every way you know?? The symmetry also just makes the focus far more clear and reserves the tons of eyes for a more intense demon form which i think is way better cause rip the animators who have to draw all those eyes every frame lol And I know it goes without saying but the steam punk inspired outfit was such a shout, it makes him stand out not only from the original hazbin characters but also your redesigns aswell and once again pushes the idea that he's in his 40s and died in the 1800s which is far more effective than having the entire hazbin cast presumably be from the same time period and shop at the same unnamed red and black striped suit shop which is literally the vibe they give off sometimes lol It honestly makes me hella disappointed that viv just threw on a pair of tiny goggles and called it a day when there's so much more that could've been done, this being a prime example of that and honestly a steam punk snake character is such a cool concept in theory but I just feel like sir pentious's usual design was more of a missed opportunity than anything I know I ramble a lot in my comments but if I don't say how amazing the details in your work actually is than ill never forgive myself for it lol basivally thank you for giving sir pentious the glow up he deserved 🤝

I just wanted to say, all of your redesigns have been top tier in terms of character design. Alastor's my favorite, but Sir Pentious is a close second, considering he actually looks like a snake and featuring steampunk! An idea I have with Sir Pentious's look is if the Egg Bois weren't actual eggs, but steampunk-styled robots instead. That aside, again, your dedication to detail and fashion is seriously on point, and I can't wait to see not only more redesigns, but especially original works.

I'll say my opinion on sir.pentious's design then I'll talk about your redesign‐ I honestly quite like his design though I can see where your coming from with his outfit being a lot like alastors but it doesn't bug me- I didn't even notice the hats expression changes (somehow) because I was focusing on snake bois face more so that's not a big issue for me but again, I can see where you are coming from- Ok now imma talk about the redesign, first think I wanna say is, THE SNOOT LOOKS SO GOOD- LIKE WHY DOESNT HIS CANON DESIGN HAVE A SNOUT- anyway- I was iffy about you redesigning him at first but after seeing the final product I really like it! It definitely gives off a more steam punk like look and it fits sir.pentious better! I also thought I wouldn't like the green and yellow but it looks good! Over all fantastic job on this! sir pentious is my fav side characters(at least until we meet baxter), and i always felt like there is something missing in his design. and after seeing the redesign, i was more dissapointed than i have been with prev redesigns. and tbh, i have no hope for future redesigns, i'm very worried what they are gonna do to valentino, cherri, baxter and the others

I love your designs so much! You give the characters so much personality and life, and really make them all stand out and look unique, unlike the actual designs that look like the same character over and over. You have such a creative take on everyone, and I wish the team had this same energy. Why are the redesigns worse than the pilots, if they now have a whole ass studio animating the show. Surely that should mean making the animation bettrr right? Apparently not in Viv's world. She seems to love these characters, but the designs don't show it. You can have simple, easy to animate designs that look good. Maybe the team should take some tips from you on how to make characters look good and feel so genuine!

Let’s be real, everyone is barely changed because Viv and the Spindlehorse crew just wanted to avoid fan backlash. And with Pen having even less changes than the others despite not being a major character, it just seems especially lazy and it suffers for it. His chest looks so empty now, but his jacket leaves that view wide open so you have to look at it, and it’s disappointing because he no longer has the eye there. With every new finalized design, I try to find _something_ to like about what’s new (Husk’s suspenders, Charlie’s eyes and hair, Angel’s gloves being super long now so the animators don’t have quite as many horizontal stripes to deal with), but with Pen? Literally just the goggles, and they don’t belong on his hat brim. If anything they go around his neck if he plans on ever using them at any point. Totally agree about the eyes being on the front of his tail, btw, that’s just uncomfortable to even think about. Also snoot supremacy 🐍💚

I have been spamming my family with your designs since I was watching them and spamming my partner with them, because I love them so, so much.
