I liked Sydney the first day I got to know about him. You're such a great gentleman.

He's an incredible man. He feels like crap but here he is with a Tux on looking elegant. That's what you call class. He's my favourite actor. He opened my eyes and made me look internally and question my morals and ideals. That's what makes him great.

So glad I didn't miss this when it was initially aired. RIP Sidney. You will forever be cherished as a man among men.

I am blessed to have met him when I was a young girl visiting family in Nassau...hearing stories from my father about his cousin Sir Sidney. Then finally as he was shooting a commercial in NYC, I walked up to him and told him I was Sherrif’s daughter then he stared at me, walked over and embraced me right on the set. He is truly a man of love and honor!

i love him so much never met him in person am so far away i am from Trinidad and Tobago in the west indies but when he talks i feel like he is the father i never had when growing wish i could meet him one day he us such a great person

What an incredible life force is Sidney Poitier!Leaving aside all his wonderful achievements and his goodness as a person, his physical presence, even at his very advanced aged, is astronomical. Through the internet we can observe the huge glowing light that beat inside of Sidney when he received the Oscar in 1964. He was a truly beautiful young man then. As he has aged, that physical beauty has never diminished.

on January 07, 2022 the great actor Sidney Poitier passed away✝In addition to his six daughters, Poitier has eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. R.I.P.

He is one of my childhood heroes, I pray for his being OK, though I fear we may lose him soon. God, I hope not. A true hero. And a symbol of African-American heart and devotion. What do I know of this you might ask? He taught us! Bless you Mr Poitier!

Mr. Poitier had the most wonderful impact on me while growing up. I regularly return to the library of films he appeared in over the years. He has brought me much joy and heartfelt warmth. He above all others is my very favorite actor. I am very sorry for his present illness and pray God intervenes on his behalf. I will cherish his work as long as I live. He is a wonderful example to us all.
