Here's a helper for swimming properly as a mermaid. Keep ur legs straight u use ur hips not ur legs. 😇

i love the fact that there’s absolutely no heels showing. i was always so put off by the heels from other manufacturers but this company may well be worth the money!

Not a company, it's a custom made prop for the tv-series Siren. She got it from their "closing production" sale, only two of these were ever made.

Yeah with other mermaid tails I’ve seen I can usually see the heels of their feet and it looks kinda weird

Bc these are more high quality made then the regular 5 dollar ones they sell at Walmart or something like that, but these are also surprisingly cheaper than the highest quality one that show knees and everything

This tail looks really smooth when swimming, like you wouldn't see the knees and the base of your foot.

I love that u cant see the feet. But the knees showed a couple times. Maybe more padding would help that

@@stevenbalkam9149you can't see the feet because the tail is from a movie production crew and is extended. This is not common as it's incredibly expensive and even more time consuming. Usually you don't get these from anywhere unless ofc you manage to get yourself on a sale from the production team like she did. The knees showing is actually about the swimming technique and not the padding.

@@MeekaChannel I find the tails from H2O and Fishtales to be more realistic. They don't bend at the knee and they are thicker so no floppiness which makes the tale and it's movement look more real.

To those who don’t know, in Siren they actually used CGI to get the tail effect. They only wore flippers to give a better no ring effect when swimming

I was looking for this comment because it was driving me nuts not having the submerged video. Because now I have no idea whether the insert was a good thing or not. No idea what it did realistically for the movement and the look of the tail. Which was what we wanted to see as we already knew it would fill the tail out better. I hope there was a follow-up with some submerged shot otherwise it's just leaves the viewer wondering why the insert is important at all. It probably makes a difference in the movement to make it that much more otherworldly in the way it moves. Or I'd like to think it does as otherwise why not just fit the tail better and leave it out.

Though there are still some things to improve on in the tail, the craftmanship is still impeccable. That thing flows like a DREAM! You can still totally rock it w/o the weird insert 😍

The girl who played ryn looked like she had no issue swimming with the tail (which she was using the insert) she was most likely trained by people on how to not use her knees when swimming in the tail like the girls from h2o

Um the girl who played run didn’t wear a tail only a mono fin and they actually used cgi to get the movement of the tail

Wow that looks absolutely amazing on you faith but may I suggest something? Maybe wear a waist scarf around the waist for decoration? It could hide the opening in the back and stop the waist skin from flapping. Btw I absolutely love how you have a team to keep you safe and help you with your tail! That’s very important. Your awesome faith! I love watching you. You inspire Me.💕

the length in comparison to the smaller tails looks a LOT smoother and more fluid in the water than the shorter tails do

This is one of the best mermaid tails I've ever seen. It looks realistic -- you can't really see the knees or the ankles and it's not all sparkly and glittery like most mermaid tails that are not convincing at all.

This was the coolest vid! As a Siren fan and seeing the behind the scenes vid with Eline was soo cool to see actual tails and you swimming in one is just amazing. I genuinely would love to see full body shots of the tail underwater if that is still possible. But this is definetly the content i signed up for! That was amazing to see and so much fun to watch from an acting interested persoective. Thanks. And I love to see the whole costume and make up on A few notes: -Movie props are usually not made to last in the same way homemade items are and they get a lot of maintaice and TLC under the filming events, so if its a small hole in it its expected and nothing to worry about. There is a chance you swam more with it in that photoshop than the actor did at the stage. -Its amazing that its fits you so well but you are still not the exact same size than the actor it was custome made for in every meassure. For that reason you are born to get some wrinkles and whatsnots as you probebly know. But it was tons of fun to see a movie or tv costume being used this way and its great that it can get a good home, I think everyone on the production would be happy for that. Johan. (I am a musical mascot and acting fan btw.)

I love how it looks more real than the regular mermaid tails, because you can’t se the feet bit, and looks more like a fish tail rather than a free diving fin! Love it!!

Hey! I immediately apologize for the mistakes (there are a lot of mistakes), because I am Russian and I do not know English well. I want to say right away that you move very nicely in the tail. I noticed that others (even in TV shows about mermaids) can move badly, for example, bend their knees a lot. You don't have that. If I saw you in the river / sea / ocean in this tail, I would take you for a real mermaid) I want to ask how it feels in this tail? For example, when do you swim? How do you feel? Is it easy to move in it? It's just that I don't understand English well and I just admired the whole video) And another question in it is warmth? Thanks in advance for your reply. And will there be more filming in it?

Did you find that doing the "h2o arms out in front of you" style of swimming helped with your ability to swim or was it just a personal choice?

Sometimes i do it to balance out my body so I don’t just have a longer lower half plus my arms at my side, but I find that unless you’re really struggling to get the rolling motion it doesn’t matter

I think my biggest question would be--turning was obviously pretty hard, but you seemed to be able to do a backflip alright... how hard was it to do a barrel roll? I've been experimenting with underwater tricks based on watching videos of dolphin movement and it occurred to me that underwater we tend to still hold onto ideas of "right side up" and even as we turn we try to keep our spines facing the surface. Whereas dolphins make sharp turns by rotating their bodies 90' in the water, and then doing basically a sideways front or backflip. So perhaps an easier way to turn would be to barrel roll onto your side, do a partial horizontal backflip, before barrel rolling back again once your legs are straightened out. (I have no idea if I explained that right)
