It's a classic for sure but very much sounds like the 80s. Which isnt bad but I wouldn't say it's timeless. Some songs seriously seem to have a sound seperate from the decade they were in. This isn't one of them. Still a great song.

I can’t find a single flaw with this song. Perfection in every way. To me, it is relatable to everyone if you truly understand the lyrics. It essentially asks the question, “How do you go for what you want in life without harming or stepping on others?” Or maybe, “How do you attack your ambitions without damaging or harming the world?” At least that’s how I’ve always felt about it. It makes you think. I love this band. I’ve probably heard this song 1,000 times and it doesn’t seem like enough. So good to see them doing so well.

The famous English classical composer Peter Warlock once wrote that there's no such thing as "old" music or "new" music, only "good" music and "bad" music. Good music, he said, is as fresh and alive as the day it was written - and I feel this song fits that description perfectly.

Agreed. Music even more than film can transcend time. Yes, one can tell by the style of a song what decade it was released but it rarely ages poorly as films or the music videos that accompany the songs themselves.

id have to disagree. the vocals aren’t as good but that’s okay, i mean they’ve aged quite well and i’m glad they’re back

i listen to a lot of music, and i can't think of any band that's sounded this good 37 years later. there's plenty of acts where their music is still good, but his voice is immaculate. very impressive.

Sounds like the record! I'd imagine it's the original band.

I'd say now is even better. Matured and bit deeper and darker...
