When you mentioned looting gold from kills, I always pictured it as more of a bounty system, or simply a combat voucher system. Contract killers, in a sense. Getting money for your contribution to the "war" effort. The money isn't directly in your pocket, per se, but granted to you when you return to the shop to trade in your "vouchers", "hits", or what-have-you.

In Austria we also have a meal where we "beat down" the meat and but it in egg, then bread crumbs eggs again and another layer of bread crumbs. Its called a Wiener Schnitzel like the Austrian capital city Vienna. Its a really common dish usually served with fries for the kids meal or dill potatoes for the adult version. Kids like to eat it with ketchup and adults often prefere a specific jam type. Its just regular jam that you can also eat for breakfast but its really good with it. Its kind of our sweat and sour thing.

@18:30 The words you're looking for are: "Pound flat" (aka to make thin), otherwise known as "tenderizing" or "evening out the meat". This is common for things like breaded chicken breasts (for dishes like chicken parmesan) where you want the chicken to cook evenly and also have a good "chew" (aka similar mouth feel) profile all the way through. "Coat in egg", as in to dip the thing (in this case, chicken or pork) in egg as to make sure it is fully covered. "Breadcrumbs" or "Panko" (breadcrumbs being exactly what it is and Panko being a type of breadcrumb), as in the "breading" or "coating" that covers the meat. Dishes like chicken parmesan (Italian), KFC (kentucky fried chicken) (USA), and Katsu (Japanese, aka breaded chicken/pork cutlet) are few bread-coated dishes.

I think you can make an argument against boots on Yorick when you're super ahead. You don't have to run away from anyone and the tower doesn;t run away from you at all. you don't need to chase them down because they need to come to you to stop you from slapping the tower.

The words you were looking for are tenderizing the meat (usually done by smacking it with a hammer), breading, which is usually used for frying chicken here in the US, we call it a pig in a blanket here in the us and we don’t really have a word for cubes of pork. The closest thing would be nuggets but that usually refers to friend pieces of chicken.

I feel like boots are almost always useful for Yorick - if you're behind they help you get away, and if you're ahead they help you move between objectives to make impacts all over the map. The only time I won't take boots is if I'm planning on focusing entirely on teamfights, which usually isn't the best idea with Yorick (except sometimes at the end of the game when all turrets are gone and the only thing left is the final push.)
@b0redoflife11 ай бұрын
As a Pole I absolutely related to you when trying to describe a pork chop. I could have laughed about beating the meat and soaking it in egg and covering in bread dust, but then I thought its exactly as I would describe my mom making a schabowy.

Hi sir, I was wondering about the runes here, poro ward is lovely, yes, but I see that you don't really like to buy boots, so what do you think about going Magical footwear and cookies/cosmic insight on the 2nd tree? You can still have the sustain of cookies that would be good replacement for the Taste of blood (or more tps and exhausts if you dont need that much sustain in lane) and you'd have free boots with a bonus MS. I was wondering if Transcendence wouldn't be better than Absolute focus, we do loose a bit of dmg but that's only when you are full HP, meanwhile it feels like CDR would benefit you a lot. What are your thoughts on this good sir?

What I'd describe as a latvian meal - baked potatoes cut like fries, pork or chicken side with maybe mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, cottage cheese with garlic and a glass of milk or kefir. But that's like if you want to be fancy about it, can cut a lot of that out if you have 10min to make dinner... Only Pokerick can judge me on that, and let Maiden guide his wisdom

This is why I love the content, talking about food for most of the game ♥️ you also probably meant hotdog, rather than pig's in blankets, because pigs in blankets is a very small sausage wrapped in bacon. It's also more British and more traditional, while hot dogs are fast food.
@Drum3rboi383811 ай бұрын
You're talking about pork cutlet. You also see them in Japanese food, german food, american food, italian food, south american food, etc. Also called pork (meat) milanese. Love it!
@Dyanosis11 ай бұрын
@21:50 - Pig in a blanket is probably correct, for how you're describing it as more of a "snack". That phrase is also sometimes used interchangeably with "Corndog", which is a hotdog (or pork sausage) covered (and fried) in cornmeal (which is... for this purpose, a type of breading).
@CreepCap111 ай бұрын
The Meat from Pig and Chicken with "Bread Dust" as you called it is actually named "Schnitzel" in Germany is one of the most iconic German food.
@jamie_miller11 ай бұрын
I liked learning a bit about Latvian food in this video! I know your pain of trying to describe food in another language. Here are some of the things you mentioned: Flattened chicken/pork = a "chicken/pork cutlet". I don't know if "cutlet" ALWAYS implies it is flattened, but it often does, especially if the thing is battered with egg and, as you said: "Bread dust" = bread crumbs* Pig in a blanket = This refers specifically to small cocktail sausages in "puff pastry", they're basically only served at parties. If what you describe is a larger sausage, or breaded in something other than pastry, I'm not sure there's a common household name for it in American English. We also have "corndogs" in America, which are hotdogs on sticks, coated in cornmeal batter and fried. "Square bread" filled with peas and pork = not 100% sure--but if it's pea SOUP then we'd call that "pea soup in a bread bowl" (catchy name, I know). About the pork, you can definitely say "cubes of pork" or "cubed pork" or "pork cubes" and people will know exactly what you mean. Any other English speakers are welcome to correct me on any of this, I could be wrong.

Doing as you asked, the 300g of the first boots is indeed very important, you *CAN* wait after the first item -> tier 1 boots -> second item. It's too much value, both gans you might have been able to survive with just tier 1 and also you walk back to the lane faster, so more pressure

“Cubed pork” we call Lardons in England. Also “bread dust” is known as “Breadcrumbs” and “pigs in blankets” or “sausages in blankets” are sausages wrapped in bacon, we usually eat them at Christmas.
@IllIlllI11 ай бұрын
Meal plan with pokerick: 1. Get the chicken (or get pig) 2. Beat your meat (have it turn flat) 3. Cover in E G G 4. Put the bread dust 5. ??? 6. Sandwich No but there’s plenty of delicious meat replacement that fill you (had some amazing ‘fake’ cordon Bleu and ‘fake’ fish the other day, was incredible). For me it’s important to keep track of protein and have like six smaller meals a day instead of three, or two. Have breakfast, snack break, lunch, snack break, two small dinner and more snack. Have plenty veggies and fruit as snack to balance high carb meals & drink fluid. Also be aware that you don’t have to become a true vegan or vegetarian, just lowering consumption can have a big impact on dietary habits and environment

The boots in league are very good gold value for what they provide. You should always sell them late game, but for the first 30-35 mins of the game their gold value is pretty strong.
@charlesbrown581511 ай бұрын
Hey pokerick, regarding the question about how you get gold, I’ve always seen it as a bounty system the more dangerous the enemy killed the more gold youre given minions give the least cuz they are the least dangerous per unit based on stats. So when you kill someone without a “bounty” you get base pay +300 the more dangerous they get the more thats added to their bounty!

Pig in a blanket, for me at least, is a small sausage no larger than a pinkie finger, wrapped in a dough and cooked in the oven, sometimes with a glaze. A small snack food, with dozens of them on a big plate for eating at a party. A sausage on a bun, I call that a sausage on a bun. But sometimes I call it a hot dog, even though this is incorrect.
@heathencaerus404611 ай бұрын

That would be boiled potato with cottage cheese and a pork or chicken steak if we're talking US terms where I’m from. To be honest, I love cottage cheese and potatoes, but I never thought of using cottage cheese instead of sour cream for a loaded potato. I do remember seeing a mashed potato recipe that called for large curd cottage cheese. I tried it in college and quite liked it, but I guess I forgot about it over the 10 years since. Making baked potatoes tonight, will try cottage cheese as a filler instead of just sour cream and cheddar.
