My Dad passed away 4 weeks ago. He was an Air Force fighter pilot and a Vietnam Vet, who served two tours in Vietnam, and taught many other pilots. I've been sorting through the memorabilia he left behind, and there are so many things that show very clearly just how tight the bond is between Brothers in Arms. This movie was a great illustration of that as well. To all the Vets out there, know that your sacrifice is appreciated, more than you will ever know. Im 17 and I have had a dream since i was 5 to serve my country, yea the branches in which i would serve have changed since but ive settled for the marines, I dont have a reason why, its not just to protect, or to be cool. Its like a little voice in the back of my head saying join and become of higher people. I'll be signing up on my birthday.

My husband and I are veterans and now our kids are serving, it really does keep going on and on.

Hardest thing I have ever done, was pack and leave for Iraq in 2008. Kissing my kids bye. Daughter was 7 and son was 5. My daughter asked me "why do you have to fight a war?". I told her its was daddies do so you can be safe at home. I was lucky, I came home. So many didnt. ....................I would go back without question.

This makes me cry because my uncle was a spec ops and was assigned to be shipped out a mont after 9/11 he was at a village the village was attacked and completely destroyed after the attack was over no one survived the attack next day I got a folded flag ( I was at my aunts house when I got the flag )

My dad served in the army,I also have uncles and cousins who served and its men like them that make this country what it is land of the brave and free. It takes alot of courage for men to leave what they love behind to go and fight a war on another soil!

I don't miss the war but I do miss it. Maybe I just miss my youth. I was HHC 3/502ND INF 101ST AIRBORNE. we went in in 2003 during the initial invasion.

It's my 12th time watching 12strong, it became one of my fave movies aot, and the end credit still hits different cuz of this masterpiece ❤

What a beautiful song. Another proof of the duality of the human being, capable to do the best and the worse. Can create this beauty or can torture to a neighbour with lies or half truths during years (on and on...) without compassion, without wondering in any moment "how is feeling this person?, how is affecting what I'm doing to the selfsteem and confidence of that person?, would I accept this for me?", because is not intelligent enough to have empathy. Inside his limited mind there are room just for selfishness and rage. And when the trauma appears you can react no more, lost. Examples in the history there are like the lost look of the people the soldiers found when they entered in the concentration camps. Even knowing all that had an end, you wonder how much love that people needed in order to recover, if it was possible. Comes aswell to my mind the strengh of a good and fair God, a God full of love that doesnt allow even a pinch of evilness, and the terrible justice that is coming. Maybe I feel specially sensitive this morning of summer... or maybe is this song. Can't stop listening to this song today...
