In this video, I play on the Awaken SMP, a Hardcore SMP where if you kill someone, their head drops and the only way to bring them back to life is with the same or different head.

i believe its because if you die to a player, they drop their head, and if someone has their head, they cant respawn, but since his head didnt drop because he wasnt killed by a player, he lived.
