The traditional SISSA Sciama Colloquium returns on Wednesday, June 12th with a very special guest: Ed Witten from the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton. He will present a seminar titled "Black Hole Thermodynamics: Then and Now". The event will start at 17:00 in Aula Magna Budinich.
Edward Witten is a renowned American theoretical physicist known for his contributions to string theory, topological quantum field theory, and mathematical physics. After receiving his PhD from Princeton University, Witten became a junior fellow in the Harvard Society of Fellows, and later held an appointment at Princeton University. In 1987, he joined the Institute for Advanced Study, where he has remained ever since.
Witten's work has significantly influenced topics such as string theory, quantum gravity, and supersymmetric quantum field theories, bridging the gap between physics and pure mathematics. He was the first physicist awarded the Fields Medal in 1990, recognizing his proof of the positive energy theorem in general relativity and his interpretation of the Jones invariants of knots as Feynman integrals. His other accolades include the Dirac Medal, the Lorentz Medal, and the Breakthrough Prize. In 2004, he was listed among Time magazine's 100 most influential people.
The Sciama Colloquium is named in memory of Dennis Sciama, a leading cosmologist of the 20th century and a key figure in astrophysics at SISSA.

If Bohr's condition of quantization of angular momentum also holds in a gravitational field, then by analogy RGMm^2=(nh/2π)^2. Orbital radii for principal quantum number n: R=(nh/2π)^2*(1/GMm^2). Velocity as a function of the principal quantum number: v=GMm2π/nh. Energy in the state with principal quantum number n: E=-2(πGM/hn)^2*m^3......

BH thermodynamics and gravity can be understood if we can understand QC functions. Susskind provide a rudimentary, finite gate quantum circuit. Witten was wise to predict a long time before we reach infinite gate quantum circuit. Assuming we do reach the algorithm of infinite axiom QC function (very unlikely), for it belongs to the sphere of divine design, turning probabilistic to deterministic nature of reality.

Nice lecture. Thank you for sharing. Q. Do you get virtual islands? Last stable orbit of a electron. Neutrino precipitation/condensation from tidal events and time distortion factors. Photoshpere, degeneracy to plank and mixed states. Schwartzchild energy density regimes with quantum cutoffs like electron degeneracy and neutron stars. Q.2) Predictably and probability. Particle production from quantum foam and gravitational waves and energy density regimes. Production zones around black holes one thing to look at. Ether way it turns out it will tell a story. Q.3) can neutrinos go fluidic or super fluidic? CNB (cosmic neutrino background ). Tidal events around black holes. Does QCD mixing with hyper flow have a dominant degenerate state? Oh well. Thank you for sharing again. Keep up the good work.

This doesn’t prove string theory is true: This convergence in theory (bekenstein) Has nothing to do with 1-manifolds ‘Vibrating’….. If the 1-manifolds are replaced by abstract curves, …. The same equivalence doesn’t immediately follow or anything. So the full ‘meaning’ of thermodynamic is then something that becomes butchered- in a sense - if one considers where the measurable concept of heat comes from: Liquid helium.

What a load absolute rubbish. We know a lot about accretion disc outward , But we only have guesses' at what goes on inside and actual dark star, BLACK HOLES DO NOT EXIST. Black is not part of the electro magentic Spectrum, HOLES CAN NEVER HAVE MASS, Show a real time example in the observable universe where hole has fucking mass. The Label Black Hole is to show the world the ignorance of christianity is still influential in the consensus which makes the label BLACK HOLE is an attack on science, not part of science. Now publicly apologise for your attack on one of the greatest minds to ever live. John Michell (/ˈmɪtʃəl/; 25 December 1724 - 21 April 1793) was an English natural philosopher and clergyman who provided pioneering insights in a wide range of scientific fields, including astronomy, geology, optics, and gravitation. Considered "one of the greatest unsung scientists of all time",[1] he was the first person known to propose the existence of Dark Stars not black holes in publication, the first to suggest that earthquakes travel in waves, the first to explain how to manufacture artificial magnets, and the first to apply statistics to the study of the cosmos, recognizing that double stars were a product of mutual gravitation. He also invented an apparatus to measure the mass of the Earth. He has been called both the father of seismology and the father of magnetometry. THis channel is an attack on the scientific method not a part of it.
