With surgery and hormones that don’t belong in the body at the quantities that are given to them there are great risks and complications but as far as mental health experts and medical professionals are concerned they say the benefits outweighs the risks..the benefits being that the patient isn’t going to take their own life because they can’t be the ‘gender’ they prefer..so why not give them the next best thing? Risky medication and surgery that could kill them?..it’s a double edged sword regardless. Also if someone doesn’t want to address a transgendered person by their preferred pronoun then they have every right since this isn’t about what the transgendered feels, it’s about forcing others to perceive their reality. You don’t know unless you’ve seen it with your own eyes, I have and I’ve spent the last 20 years involved in this..not only my ex but others in the same circle. It’s not all rainbows and lollipops..far from it.
