I didn't think his comment was shade at all....When a woman is raised to be a wife and mother, having a meal prepared and on the table on time is what she is taught to do. I just wish he'd had the opportunity to complete his thought or his statement.

I wish Quad was able to finish her statement, but I realize Rashawn didn't want to make the topic a cultural issue, but it really is. My husband is a firefighter and about 90% of the white firefighters wives do not work, never have. They are housewives, but the majority of the black firefighters wives all work. If they don't work they are retired from something. Also I grew up in Western Pennsylvania which was about 80% white and I saw this same dynamic growing up among my friends parents. I think black men seem to always request there mate to bring "something" to the table, but if you ask the average white man his wife bringing something to the table doesn't occure to him. Now you could dig further down on a socioeconomic level and see that black people by in large are huge consumers and being that way requires disposable income of which living on one salary does not always provide. So that being the issue would signal the need for a two income household. Where as white people, but more so white women are not huge consumers, so living within their husbands one salary is something they can do. Think about it this way of you have school aged children......what nationality is the parents who are generally always at the school? Always volunteering? Always the class mom? On a personal note I was in Corporate America for over 2 decades and last year following my mothers passing from cancer I stopped working and now am a SAHM/SAHW and love it. My husband said I should have done it long before now. Funny thing is my husband and I actually spend more one on one time together than we did before while I was working fulltime. I spend more time at our boys (10&8) school than ever before, so they put me on the Board as the parent representative. I'm a total traveling AAU mom now. I get in more gym time too for me, so ironically the change has been a win-win for everyone. One day I'll probably work again, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy my freedom from the 9-5 grind.

Really important to note thst some women love working. They don't work because their husbands demand it (speaking about those in a black race) they enjoy their independence and ability to contribute to their homes. Some women come from families that have seen Dad die suddenly and at an older age have to now just start the workforce to make ends meet after the insurance money and savings have gone. They witnessed a mom having to take mediocre jobs just to pay the bills. It's easier to build on your future have your own pension and such and just add it to together for added security. There are also quiet a bit of volunteers in the school that are black and other cultures that contribute to their children's lives. I don't only see the white ones. Depending on the demographics of people in your area it may look like more whites are active

I think it was tacky to cut him off in the midst of giving his opinion. Why ask questions if you can't respect the viewpoint of the person. Yes I said TACKY because he wasn't done finishing his point. It doesn't always have to be about racism, stereotype, etc. Sometimes it's just the damn truth. Next time let your guest speak.

I get Rashan is trying to protect the show she doesn't want them to receive any backlash from the blanket statement that Quad threw out there. But for Memphitz to say they have dinner cooked and the house cleaned is not always the case. I knew of many who did not work, the husbands come home the house is a mess, kids are running wild, and there is no dinner cooked. Most times he had to stop on the way and bring dinner home. I worked full time outside the home and the house was always clean and there was a hot meal on the dinner table every evening. My Slow cooker put in a lot of hours but, you plan and do what you got to do. I was raised to earn my own and I was also raised to take care of my family's needs around the house. As women both can be done. I watched my mother do it everyday growing up. Our home was always clean and we always had dinner cooked plus she worked hard to provide for us as we got older she taught us how to take care of things around the house and modeled good work ethics for us as well.

Jen Bradley, Sister, I applaud your values. In the late 20th century and early 21st century, a number of these females are clueless about applicable domestic skills. In addition, problems arise in relationships when roles are not defined. Expectations must be clear and not assumed. Unfortunately, many individuals have not been taught and this deficiency leads to an ultimate departure from the marriage. When the Word of God is not followed, Satan is waiting to step in and wreck havoc. Divorce is the outcome. Some individuals still will never learn about the pitfalls of life and don't care who they destroy through their ignorance and stupidity.

This is a topic that requires a larger selection of men from various ages and backgrounds to get a better consensus on how we as blk men feel about this topic. I heard a lot of misconceptions about what we as blk men feel is a gold digger vs goal digger (I hate that terms as it makes it seems negative for a woman to want to mate with a male who is goal oriented and successful). For the record, most Men who are goal oriented and is successful are never threatened by a woman who seeks a relationship with a man who is a proven provider.

The question of stay at home mom , came up and the fact that many white women are raised that way , the black man was about to go there and he did state that white women are willing to cook. The conversation was redirected immediately. This is the problem we have in our community with many of our men. It was clear where he was about to go with that. Sad!!

Each relationship is different. Sometimes a man and a woman agree for a more "traditional" lifestyle. Meaning the man works while the woman takes care of the children and home. Back in the day, this was the norm. However, housewives of yesterday are very different from what housewives are today. A real housewife has actual work to do inside and often outside of the home while trying to spread all of her attention evenly between the children, her husband and other family. She's often exhausted but still has to figure out a way to accomplish all of this. Today, everyone wants to call themselves a housewife while having maids, nanny's, assistants, gardners etc. A stay-at-home mom doesn't mean that you just stay at home and do nothing. A gold digger just wants a lavish lifestyle with minimal effort.

Make sure the network keeps the show going and put money into promoting it by calling in. The Real had to find its grounding too but they did and now they are Emmy winners.

Women judge men for what they have but get upset when you're called a gold digger or when a man judges you for your body. It goes both ways. Just like I don't want to be judged by how big my booty is they don't want to be measured by their financial shortcomings. Contrary to popular belief and images on Instagram and other social media, people actually struggling out here but everyone is too embarrassed to admit that because of these expectations. You find someone willing to work together towards something and you work from there. If you basing love off of the persons material status, well that's how you get cheaters and abuse because you so busy making sure he can pay all your bills yet he treats you like shit. The money should be the last thing to check off because that comes and goes. The person is what matters because if he is a good man he'll work to get what you both want.

I think we both get to expect and have values and expect certain things of the other. However, women sometimes want a man to have a lot but don't have the same in return. A good man may not have a lot of gold at first may not have a nice car or all of the things we want but the woman who is a good woman sticks by him as he makes moves to get there. However, men take us when we have nothing but we expect men to always come to the table with everything. Black women never want to own up to there outrageous lists of what they want but not willing to do. You should be choosing people for who they are not for what they have. Also, why bring up the question but the man didn't get to say his side only because they didn't want to hear it.

Some strong women make some weak men uncomfortable. He doesn't know what he can offer her if she can do it herself. There is the extreme, there are woman and men that only see their goals and forgets about building a stable meaningful longstanding relationship. That is toxic. Why have the relationship if it is not one of the top priorities in their life.

Why do women forge limitations in their minds? Women assume men see them as nothing and it's dangerous because they begin to fight for a position no one is contending with them for. If a man starts trying to enjoy what women are enjoying, they'll say he's crazy. What's wrong if a woman opens the car door for her husband every time they on a ride. So you see....
