Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite for Sisters, a new film from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore about two disconnected sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house. Looking to recapture their glory days, they throw one final high-school-style party for their classmates, which turns into the cathartic rager that a bunch of ground-down adults really need.

PlagaXTifi Don't see why it makes sense to think of them as competition anyway. Sisters is a mid-budget comedy starring 2 of the most respected comedians in America and Star Wars is a $200 million-budget sci-fi movie part of an existing international franchise. Yes, Star Wars will take number 1 that weekend (obviously) but why would that affect this movie? Also it is in fact possible to see 2 movies in the same weekend.

Alex Mujica No the studios purposely place films like these when big action/adventure films come out because some people don't want to watch the big ticket movies. So they have a few other options for people for aren't in the demographic for Hunger Games and Star Wars.

Every comment is the same... What's with star wars fans thinking that literally everybody likes star wars? Funny detail: not everybody does, even a lot of people that like the same kind of movies (action and sifi) think star wars is overrated. Specially people that didn't watch the movies as kids and therefore don't associate them with an easier, happier moment in their lives . Moreover, the star wars cult, which is so potent in the USA, is considerably weaker, down to nonexistent, in other countries. Meanwhile, a comedy appeals to literally everybody everywhere. I haven't yet met one single person that doesn't like to laugh. Star wars will top on the opening weekend, that's for sure, but once the first wave of avid fans have had their turn Sisters will collect more during the showing weeks, in the international market too. Specially considering it's Christmas break and the general public is in the mood for lighthearted, corny stuff.

+octavaluna People who don't like Star Wars have irrelevant opinions. I can understand if your first impression of Star Wars came from the Prequels, and in that case, your opinion is irrelevant anyway, since you're too young to know better in the first place. However, if you are old enough to have seen the originals and you don't like them - then your opinion is still irrelevant because you obviously have no idea what constitutes a good film. Star Wars wasn't just a good Sci-Fi/Fantasy flick. It was actually serious cinema that can be studied by every discipline of story and film. If you don't like it - you're opinion is just irrelevant. You don't have to be a nerd fan of it. You just have to accept the truth: it was a good film.

oh wow. I live in Southeast Asia and even in my country the tickets are almost always sold out and theres always a really long line in the movie theatres and people literally dress up as star wars characters and/or carry a lightsaber in the theatres. Sisters didnt even get a release date here since all the cinema rooms are used for star wars.... shame cos I'd love to watch Sisters too. and btw,go watch the star wars original trilogy. if u dont like it...seriously, u must have some horrible taste for movies.

The Ballerina Box and the Melody comes from Germany and not from Switzerland ! She have a Sticker with Germany Name on it ! Totally funny that no one has noticed !

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler had such fun chemistry in 2008's Baby Mama that I'm actually looking forward to this one. It looks like they have switched roles. In Baby Mama Tina Fey's character was the responsible do-gooder and Amy Poehler's character was the irresponsible, reckless friend. Hopefully this one will be just as fun to watch.

I love Tina Fey and Amy Poehler together, but this looks kind of dumb. I wish they would go a little less low-brow and a little more thoughtful, a little more heart, like Mean Girls. They are funny enough to make it work.

It's really a good movie for some light fun. The manicurist is amazing. The movie was well-paced, with interesting and creative episodes on the basic idea. It had varying dynamics and inserted a few slightly deeper ideas without losing the running comedic theme. Very well done.

Dang this has like 8/10 on IMBD and 95% on rotten tomatoes I guess someone i knew went to it and said it was funnier than mean girls...Tina fey wrote the script for this and mean girls so it's good bc she wrote it
