WHO WE ARE:
We are Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy, and Lauren Cimorelli, 5 sisters originally from Northern California who are now based in Nashville, TN. We grew up singing in a big family of 11 children and our mom, a classical pianist, taught us to sing in harmony when we were kids. We got our start in musical theatre productions, doing classical pieces in the church choir and performing barbershop harmonies at nursing homes for the elderly (back then our grandma was our agent).
In 2009, when Christina was 18 years old and Lauren was 10 years old, we posted a cover of us singing Party In The USA that ended up going viral. From that video, we were discovered by a manager in London, and shortly after signed with Universal Music Group under Island Records. We moved to Los Angeles in 2010, where we lived and worked in the L.A. pop music world for 5 years, before getting extremely burnt out. We realized a major label deal wasn’t for us, left our label and moved to Nashville, TN, looking for a new start. In 2015, we officially became Nashville-based, independent artists.
Since then, we have written and released 5 albums of original music, toured all over the U.S., South America, and Europe, performed at festivals in Germany, Spain and the Philippines, wrote a book, Believe In You: Big Sister Stories and Advice on Living Your Best Life, started a podcast (The Cimorelli Podcast) and reached over 1 billion views on our KZfaq channel. Currently, the 5 of us sisters are embarking on new journeys of marriage and starting our own families (Christina, Katherine and Lisa), and figuring out life as twenty-somethings (Lauren and Amy).
Our goal with our KZfaq channel is to constantly challenge ourselves to grow creatively, and to make videos and music that is positive, uplifting and innovative. Our Christian faith guides our decisions, and we will always create content that is family friendly, while not being afraid to touch on topics that we believe are important, such as mental health and personal growth. I think that these are so fun because it allows us to remember that everyone’s experiences of something is so subjective. What one person feels/sees/hears/etc…, isn’t exactly the same as someone else. I know this is just an entertaining example but it’s a great lesson in perspective. ❤

I really wonder why you think the song is sad? It's actually meant as empowering? Like... she can and will take care of herself and will do so better than any guy ever will (especially THAT guy) and she finds her own self worth, no longer making herself small to fit his world (say things he won't understand...).

Once you actually hit rock bottom for real, that's probably the moment you grasp how powerful things like "I am enough" and "I love and take care of myself" truly are. The contentment and peace of realizing that I can indeed "buy my own flowers" (as in: create beauty in my own life) is amazing. Yet somehow I hope for all of them they never understand that... because even though the outcome is powerful, the journey there isn't fun at all.

I just watched and totally agree, not sad as Amy said, “lying to yourself”? Lauren? Really? I get that it’s a take but hmmm….not a message that should be shared with young girls learning/struggling to love themselves without adding some nuisance….Girls I love ya’ll but you entirely missed the point of the song and I’m genuinely curious as to why (and being as old as Christina, honestly worry about how this whole “lying to yourself”/“it’s depressing” might come across to young tweens/teens ❤ thank you Kath for sharing your - further empowering- interpretation

That was very beautiful they do fit together nicely given how different they are. I like how creative you girls always get it's very impressive to me. And all of you girls are so talented each in your own special way! I do relate to that song; to me it's about respecting yourself and finding the strenght to do what's right for you and what makes you happy even though it can be heart breaking at first like leaving a toxic relationship.

Okay but here my out, Cimorelli covers this but in a minor key! It doesn't sound like it would fit but listen to this, imagine the character portrayed by the singers is upset about losing her lover in the verses, but in the chorus' she is talking directly towards her ex-partner, suggesting that she no longer cares (with anger towards him). This idea could be executed perfectly by the girls, with all their unique voices and quirks they could absolutely pull it off. I'll write below how I imagine this cover could be arranged (with suggestions to who would take the lead where and why) ; Imagine Amy taking the lead with Kath taking the bass in the first verse and keeping it at a lower register and having it softer. Then having Christina take the lead in the first round of the chorus bringing up the dynamics a bit with one or two belting notes. For the second verse have Lauren take the lead to raise the register right up there and have the dynamics become softer again. As the second round of the chorus comes in, have Kath take the lead as she could produce a really emotional yet power filled sound to bring the dynamics up again. In the bridge before the final chorus, have all the girls chanting with slowly increasing dynamics to build up towards the final chorus. For that moment where the final chorus kicks in, have Lisa take over the lead (as she is amazing at high chest mixes) to intensify the finale with a high yet incredibly powerful sound, with the dynamics at their highest point within the whole cover. For the ending sequence (being a repetition of the prior bridge segment), drop the dynamics right back down and slowing down on the last two lines gradually to end really slowly and on a sustained note (likely a harmony of the root chord)

Highkey wish I was a Cimorelli sister so I could do these challenges😭 I thought this was a cool idea for this song, so here's what I would do as the 6th Cimorelli: Inspiration - Vibes I'd try to make it all sad (with low/soft notes and humming) in the beginning, then complete silence right after "say things you don't understand." Afterwards, I'd make it more upbeat/loud (with ahh's and higher notes). First part = initial emotions of a breakup, second part = realizing I really don't need a man to make me happy and achieve the things I want to do.
