Watch our clip compilation for Sisu! In theaters April 28, 2023.
During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector (Jorma Tommila) crosses paths with Nazis on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Nazis steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word “sisu”, this legendary ex-commando will embody what sisu means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Nazis throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back - even if it means killing every last Nazi in his path.

It's like complaining that the "WW2" German tanks in a lot of old movies were actually M60s. Sometimes, you gotta use what the budget, and availability allows. Even the Tigers in Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers were T-34 tank chassis made up to look like Tigers, which is why the turrets were in front instead of centered on said chassis.

@happisakshappiplace.6588 Being over the top and unrealistic for the sake of fun and cool ideas is one thing. Think the goofy suppressor scene in John Wick. Blocking auto .50cal rounds with a dudes dead body and sustaining no injuries is just gonna take me out of it entirely, I'm sorry.

There were massive stores of German weapons and ammunition left over as the war ended. They just weren't in the places where they were needed. There were also tens of thousands of well armed and equipped German troops stuck in foreign garrisons while the high command drafted kids and old men into the final battle of Berlin. Wartime logistics are a curious thing.

it was actually pretty common to pick up equipment of the enemy. Weird thing is, this looks like it is in north africa, which doesnt makes sense, since germans did not fight russians there. PS: Ok I just finished watching the whole clip, I have no fucking clue what this is about lol.

All the “ historians “ in these comments need to relax I don’t think the intent of the movie was to be a documentary. The film is intended to be entertainment with the exaggerated video game violence. Sit back get a bucket of popcorn and try to enjoy the film for what it is now that you have proven to be the smartest people in the theater

Finland and Germany were allies for most of the war. Finland only very reluctantly declared war on Germany in order to make peace with the Soviets. They didn't fight each other very hard. More likely to be Soviets committing such acts in Finland, but hey whatever right?
