The Jedi need only "consent" from the "Will of the Force". Anytime else is far secondary. Much like how a lot of Abrahamics will say that "good" is literally whatever "God's will" is, regardless of benefit or detriment to mortals.

Those under a white flag of peace aren’t to be executed. It’s in the rules of war and the Geneva convention. This Sith was clearly not openly hostile and looking to negotiate, and he was attacked without provocation.

That's literally why I refuse to believe it's canon that the Mandalorians remain with the Alliance should the Alliance Commander side 100% with the Jedi instead of being neutral. The Jedi hate the Mandalorian way of life, their habits of being bounty hunters, and unlike the Empire would 100% seek to dismantle or destroy it. The Empire, at least, would always have need of them.
