@@anthonyalvarez6658 Hi Anthony, I'm 50 ( 51 this year) I have right sided Hemiparesis and have Osteo arthritis. I used to practice Wing chun as a teenager. Its never left me! I'm going thru a revival with this magnificent art, at present. I don't think I will ever be able to practice again, with the above. I still think one could gain power by immersing yourself into it, mentality + studying it, scientifically (?) I will always believe Wing chun to be superior to any fighting system in and out of the martial arts. I could be wrong in stating this, and forgive me if I am, but I believe even Bruce Lee would admit to this?

I appreciate the video. I am relearning this after years off from a back and knee injury. Wing Chun, and especially this form is a life long art of discovery. I have seen Yip Man do this when he was in his late seventies. I continue on my journey of this wonderful art.

I miss my friend Kenan , who showed me Wing Chun...before I had low confidence, and I felt good and empowered by his one on one training...I went to a Wing Chun class they showed me forms,etc with little one on one training that made me feel bad ....so please take my advise, when a student quits, in many cases, you failed him.....the spirit of martial arts is love of what your doing , nothing else 💝💝😍
@ApocalyptoX13 жыл бұрын
I think that when a person quits anything, they fail themselves. To blame anyone else, you give away your power (for lack of a better word). With all due respect, some schools suck. Don't quit. Move on and find another school or just train alone. But if you like it and got a benefit... Continue.

Thank you for posting this reference for those of us who just can't seem to get the whole form to stick in memory. That said, it may just be the camera angle, but your elbows appear fully extended when punching, which gains depth of penetration but practically begs for leverage attack. Also, remember that Fook Sau means "Resting Hand". As long as the energy extends from the elbow, the hand and forearm needn't be tense. Your Tan Sao is nice and relaxed. Let that inform your Fook Sau as well. Beyond that, you're lookin' good. Keep it up!

I have not trained for some years but find myself practicing Siu Lim Tao & this video is good refresher on terminology. Win Chun is only MA that in training you get to spend much time slapping & kicking around a dummy, which in 2023 is good stress relief in age of dummies everywhere.
@mokyan75 жыл бұрын
That is looking good, the more you practice and feel and know what to do you keep improving. Nice snap and camera angles too In first section: as you move your tan sau fwd, remember to leave some bend in elbow at the end when you then huen sau to jut. (Not a fully straight elbow/arm)You need the 135* elbow bend for strength and structure and so you can also attack by extending it a bit. In second section when you do fak sau - jut back to right arm on left - roll arms to double jum sau - double tan sau, then as you double huen sau, next be sure to double jut/ jerk your hands in and down slightly towards your core and THEN do the double biu saus. Overall, nearly every time you do a tan sau your arm is fully extended instead of having bend in elbow. Practice that slight drop of elbow to have a little bend after every punch or palm strike. It offers better coverage from attack, shock absorption, ability to counter strike , and more. A fully extended arm is tense, can be swatted out of the way by your attacker and will turn your body away with it, opens up your side to hooks and strikes. Nice overall video, good to spread the knowledge

It would be great if you shot a side-view for any vids you do, in future. FPOV & SPOV. If you have the time could you please do the same for the Chum Kiu and Biu Ji forms. For those that don't know or understand the difference between Traditional Wing Chun and Modified Wing Chun, this is a / the "real" Traditional Wing Chun form. Again, Great!

@KogoroHitsune9 жыл бұрын
Andrew Tosi lack of training would not say .. I practice martial arts since I six years now I have thirty . but this appeared after 2 years of wing chun ... the doctor told me I should be due to the tendon of the little finger ! : D maybe I took a turn and I have not noticed ! I hope to go away! :P
I understand that between 0:35 and 0:40 roughly The wrist movement is to condition the wrist Is there other movements in other forms to condition the ankle ?

I learned this form 20 years ago from Sifu Chris Chan's top students in San Francisco CA. I also observed Chris perform it. But having forgotten it, I have been surfing KZfaq looking for a complete demo. Not only is this by far the best view, but the handwork and angles are exactly as I remember. The critical comments below are incorrect and show lack of understanding. These moves are SUPPOSED to be done with tension. They are to strengthen tendons and focus chi. Chris Chan was Bruce Lee's best friend. They learned together directly from Yip Man. End of story.
