Six active (and cheap!) days out in the Yorkshire Dales

We have recently moved to the Yorkshire Dales and we absolutely love it. These are our current favourite SIX places we have discovered so far. They are great for active days out and are often free (our just a little cost for parking!). If you are wanting to get out and discover this amazing National Park, you need to watch this now. Join us as we take you round this beautiful part of the world.

We are Richard and Jackie and we live in the UK. Our plans for early requirement include relocating to the Yorkshire Dales, developing our forever home and travelling the UK, Europe and eventually the world in our VW campervan Nelson.
You will soon realise that we are complete KZfaq beginners with all the challenges of creating and publishing videos ahead of us, not to mention uploading when on the road.

Malham and Gordale scar are some of hour happy places The scenery is stunning 🥾

Moughton Scar is a nice quiet area to walk in and is just up the road from you. One of my regular walks is to park at Malham Tarn and walk on the Old Monk's Road to Arncliffe, then along the riverside to Kilnsey and back to the Tarn over Mastiles Lane. There are also some lovely walks around Grassington. Great video, looking forward to seeing your next adventures, Andrew.

Grassington is somewhere we have not really explored yet. We cycled through a couple of times. We still have most of the eastern and northern dales to explore and lots of free time now to do it!

Hello What a lovely vlog I have been to most of the places but not Bolton Abbey Will definitely go when we are in Hawes in October Have you been to Simonstone hall hotel near Hawes nice wine lovely lunch Love to both of you enjoy the summer up there Andrew 💐💜xx

Bolton Abbey is such a lovely area to explore. The estate is vast. We have cycled some of the back roads through it and love the river walks. The parking is expensive but worth it if you make a full day of it. We stay at a campsite in the village so don’t need to move the van. We will have to check out simonstone Hall some time, we revisited Hawes whilst making the Vlog we had forgotten what a lovely little town it is!

Great selection of places to visit in the Yorkshire Dales. Coming from the E Mids we have always had to stay up there and when visiting Stainforth Force we stay at the Knight Stainforth Hall camp site(about £27/night these days). This also has a good restaurant - The Knight's Table. Both can be found by continuing your walk over the little bridge and up the hill.
